Bad services staff, Bad location, room not up to a 5 stars standard
Aviod this hotel, Bad services staff ( the cleaning maid enter our room while we were sleeping trying to clean the room we have to chase her out) Not worth the money you paid for a 5 stars hotel.

Very clean and the service was very good for China. Decoration of the hotel seemed like a five star hotel and service supported that. Good Bacon Cheeseburger!
Bed was small and the bedding did not live up to the feeling set by the decor and cleanliness of the hotel. Location was not as near the "heart" of the city as suggested.
Oerall, I had a great stay the the Ambassador. The staff was very friendly and courteous. During checkout, the staff helped me get a cab to leave and everything, well done. The hotel was very clean and well kept and had the feeling of a five star hotel. My girlfriend even noted how nice it was! The room was nicely designed and had a decent view of the city from there, albeit, not exactly what I was expecting. The room was clean and very well kept. Bedding however was subpar when compared to the other elements of the hotel. However, it was just fine. The burgers in the hotel were excellent and the room service was prompt. Prices were a bit high but the food was good. Overall, I would suggest it to anyone who was thinking about staying there.
Shopping Tip : Take a cab to City Plaza, it can be quite a walk

Central location, good front desk staffs.
concierge were very helpful and efficient.
hotel location is right opposite a lot of restaurants. and 3 mins walk to a departmental store. rooms are clean.
distance to the train station is quite far...walking took me 40 mins. but then who takes the train in shanghai. taxi is dirt cheap.
my overall stay at this hotel has been good. my stay was purely for business and i didn't have the time to enjoy the facilities of this hotel. fairly new and things are clean and new. plenty of channels on the tv for me to surf on. there is spa and a thai massage in the hotel but i didn't try any but instead went else where. restaurants right opposite the hotel is great. cheap and delicious. had my lunch there 3 times during my stay.
