Great for a family visit to Shanghai
Conveniently located, historically interesting, nice breakfast buffet.

We upgraded to a "family room" at check in (one king bed and one queen bed) - extra expense but with two small children the extra space was very nice. It was clean, safe, attractive and had character as opposed to being a cookie cutter hotel. We could walk to The Bund and various restaurant and taxis were readily available for longer jaunts. The breakfast buffet had a nice mix of Asian and western choices. Would definitely recommend to others for a Shanghai visit.

We enjoy staying at the Astor. It has an excellent location and is a very good value. As with all Shanghai hotels, after the room everything else is overpriced from food, to a simple bottle of water.

Historic hotel with Shanghai view

We had stayed at Astor House three years ago, and when we returned to Shanghai we wanted to return because it is a unique, special place with much history and ambiance. The staff is very helpful. We would return again.
