Excellent location - just a minute away from the luxurious Portman Ritz Carlton, the it-club M2, Zara, and a handful of sports bars and budget restaurants. It is truly the place where you would have options to live on a tight budget or to splurge like there's no tomorrow. Excellent staff: very friendly and helpful. Retro decor: quaint and a lot more tasteful than other hotels in the similar price range
The hotel's 'breakfast buffet' is an awkward fusion between Shanghainese and continental style breakfast, not satisfying and wayyy overpriced for its mediocre quality.
Bar the tiny 'restaurant' that they have, Baolong offers surprisingly good value for its price. The broadband internet is fast and user friendly, and the whole antique decor is very relaxing and pleasing to the eye - and Agoda REALLY does have the lowest rate! The walk-in price is almost a 100RMB more than the one listed here, so don't trust travel guides that tell you to walk-in for bargains, they don't exist.
