Great breakfast buffet
Convenient to Line 2 and Maglev, ten minute walk or 12 rmb taxi
Friendly and helpful staff
No hassles
Nice room
Good value
View from less expensive rooms not the best, but that is true in any hotel
I was in China for nearly a month and this was by far the nicest hotel I visited, including quite a few that cost more than twice as much. I found the hotel, via the subway, convenient to nearly every Shanghai destination including both Pudong and Hongqiao airports. Takes less than ten minutes to Pudong on the Maglev and avoids potential for missed flights due to taxi rides in heavy traffic. The same applies to Hongqiao for domestic fligts, about 30 minutes on line 2 with no transfers and a very short taxi ride from Song Hong station. I found the staff at the Blue Horizon helpful and friendly. I will stay at the Blue Horizon on every future visit to Shanghai.
Restaurant Tip : Very good and inexpensive restaurants across the street from Long Yang road subway station. 20 rmb for great food and a beer. Hard to beat.

close to Expo Center
good breakfast
difficult to get a taxi
street is a wreck, untraveled, and full of potholes.
I stayed at this hotel so that i would be close to the Expo center for a show there, and it was fine for that purpose, even though they have no transportation to and from the Expo, and there were no taxis available. During the peak times it can be very difficult to get a taxi from this hotel. The rooms were ok, but the breakfast was very good. The lobby was nice.
Hotel Feature Tip : this is within walking distance to the train to the airport.

Staff had good english (for China)
Rooms are fair condition, ok for short stay
Breakfast was 66RMB and very good
Bed was a little hard for my taste.
No western style convenience shop, near by.
I am an Australian business traveller with some experience in China, so if you are a first time traveller this hotel may be a litte too local for your taste. It is a western style 4 star, but was mainly populated by local business travellers. I have no difficulty getting Taxis to and from all locations. It was 36RMB and took about 35 minutes to the Bund ( CBD Shanghai). The staff were freindly, very helpful and had fair english. They tried to charge me twice for the room on departure, but this was a genuine mistake and fixed with out a hassle. It 5 minute by taxi to the New Shanghai Expo Centre, and there are some good local resturants about the same distance. I wll stay here again.
Restaurant Tip : Millanos resturant is owned by an Italian and has excellent espresso bout 5 minutes form the hotel.
