Location - close to smart shopping complexes and about 10 min walk to subway (Nanjing Rd West). Spacious room.
Some staff have difficulty with english. The concierge could be a little more genuine. We felt that they were sometimes taking us for a ride.
The hotel is in a nice location. Nanjing Road is very nice with lots of smart shopping malls. Easy access to taxis and subway. Large convenient room. Floors accessed via 5 lifts. Breakfast ok. Good overall experience.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Some taxi drivers in front of the hotel ask for 50 yuan to take you a short distance. Metered taxis are less than half price.

Conveniently located on western end of the popular Nanjing Road, which is the more up-market end of that long road. It's right next to the 3 most high end malls; Plaza 66, Citic Mall and Westgate Mall. The subway is about a 10 mins walk and one stop away from the busy People's Square. There is a Starbucks with 2 mins walk for those who need their daily fix. Rooms are clean, modern and well equipped. Staff are generally friendly.
Hotel walls are quite thin, so be prepared to listen in to your neighbours' conversations, especially if they return late at night! Even conversations in the corridors can be heard. No free internet, unless you are on the Executive floors. Frontline staff are not very fluent in English but passable.
This is a modern, clean, mid-size hotel catering more to individuals, business travellers and not tours from my observations during my stay. It is located at the more up-market end of Nanjing Road amidst brand new malls with a large Gucci showroom right next door. The subway is a 10 mins walk away which makes connecting to any part of Shanghai a breeze. I didn't eat in the hotel (but did have a beer in the lobby cafe) but there are lots of eating places within walking distances; either stand alone places or within the nearby malls. I would return to this hotel when I next come back to Shanghai.

Location would still be the best selling point of this hotel, with this price range, not easy to find another hotel with such spacious room.
had stayed with this hotel for quite a lot of times, but still not much smiling faces can be found on their staffs
Not sure whether the management of the hotel really read my last comments or not, the control of air-con system was getting a lot better this time, well done! Ordered room-service meal this time, wonder why their deep fried platter with fries, chicken wings, onion rings ... etc was not coming together with Tomato Ketchup.. that's common sense and they should understand how troublesome it would be to ask the room service waiter to get back the Ketchup for you while you are having your dinner at 12 midnight in room!! No TV at the living room as which where the place is most of the business travellers spent a lot of time there due to the only internet connecting point is there also, for long term, it would definitely be one of the weakest point of the hotel!!!
Shopping Tip : there is a brand new shopping mall right next to the hotel!
