Pampered by attentive staff in a heritage hotel

In my view, The Peace Hotel is one of the best, if not The Best hotels I have stayed at. Not only because of the heritage environment but because of the attentive staff throughout the 3 night stay. All departmental staff excelled in this area. I took advantage of the use of the executive floor and the additional cost was great value.

A comfortable and luxurious stay
The Hotel is situated on the Bund, which make it perfect for a great night out to the numerous restaurants and bars along the Bund at night. The room is spacious with an ultra big bathroom.

We booked it as a treat to experience the night life on the Bund. The hotel was recommended to us by friends, and we wre suitably impressed. We didn't book a table in the jazz bar or restaurant in advance but just arrived and said we were residents and were immediately shown to a table - great service. The next morning we had the swimming pool to ourselves. Overall a special experience which we would thoroughly recommend.

There was a dead fly on the coffee machine counter

Room rate did not come with internet or breakfast. Had to pay much more for it. Not worth the price. Room was so far from the elevators that guests are given a floor map. It felt like walking in a maze to get back to the room.

What can one say? A beautifully restored icon of the Bund. Service standards remain exceptionally high, and nothing is ever too much trouble for the staff.
Restaurant Tip:
Behind the hotel are a myriad of small traditional restaurants filling all sorts of nooks just one or two blocks back from the Bund. Worthy of exploration on foot. There's also a lovely porcelain shop nearby with handcrafted unique items.

as usual in shanghai,you will find one staff member who cares - eventually. mix up with room rate but that was more down to agoda - misleading deal wasn't what it seemed. wifi in rooms is pathetic - it is incredible that they have the nerve to charge 100 rmb for 24 hours when it took two hours to load a page! couldn't resolve the problem with agoda as literally couldn't get the page in time - moved rooms on the 2nd night when told that the area we were in didn't get good wifi - no kidding!
to be fair they credited the wifi charge.
beware city view is a brick wall - so i dread to think what no view means. street side is nicer but we got that by chance when we moved.
don't bother with jazz bar - we expected great things but were disappointed. no atmosphere - band looked like they'd rather be anywhere else!
i'm sure the bar on the balcony is great in summer.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
Perfectly placed for a stroll along the Bund or a pleasant walk down Nanjing Lu for coffee and people watching. It was Chinese New Year so the crowds were out and atmosphere was great.

Be sure to enjoy the live music in the jazz bar.

An enjoyable and lovely stay at Fairmont Peace
The histroy of hotel is very important to me, Great locations with The Bund right in front of hotel and the stretch of restaurants & retail outlets around, nice f&b outlets, hotel room is just nice, also friendly service by the staff.

I enjoy my stay alot in Fairmont Peace. Upon arrival at the hotel, check in experience is good. Also there is a staff to accompany to the room and give a tour around the room. She even suggested to make a cup of coffee using the in-room expresso coffee machine. Location is marvellous, just a min to walk across The Bund. And there are many restaurants around the area. The F&B outlets offers the best of food & service.
Restaurant Tip:
Try out the Chinese Restaurant Dragon Phoenix at Level 8. Also M on the Bund which is nearby.
