no airconditioning in the room rooms did not have individual airconditioners and the hotel had not turned their central AC on yet. so rooms were very warm. i had to ask for a table fan which kept me comfortable. This fact should have been mentioned on their website.
the shops in the lobby have good bargains and good stuff, surprising for a 4 star hotel. the housekeeping staff were very attentive and prompt in their assistance

Rooms are in need of renovation
Far from shopping areas
No international ATM
Poor selection of dinning options especially for Western Travellers I stayed there for 6 nights to attend a trade show. The reason why i selected this hotel is because their website said it is located right next to Shanghai mart and it is only a few minutes walk -- This is not true, it is not possible to walk to the Shanghai mart, unless you are prepared to cross a few high ways.
Although my room was full prepayed they still asked for 6000 yuan ( just under a US $1000) deposit which i think is crazy...
I booked a room for 1 with a double bed on a non smoking floor, when i checked in they told me no non smoking rooms available and only twin bedded rooms.
The room as is the rest of the hotel is in desperate need of a renovation, especially the bath room. The bed was as hard as stone and i think sleeping on the floor would have been more comfortable
I would not recommend this hotel to anybody and i will not stay there again as i can find much better value for my money at many nearby hotels
Shopping Tip : If you need to withdraw money from ATM, walk around the corner to Bank of China, the ATM there takes international cards

Location-Walking distance from MTR
No language barrier for English speakers Expensive Internet connection (RMB80/night) For an appointment in the center of Shanghai I selected this hotel. Even though the hotels is on the other side of Shanghai from Pudong airport from which my flight to Singapore leaves at 8am, I could catch the plane thanks to the location near highway entrance.
Hotel Feature Tip : Nothing inconvenient for English speakers.

walking distance to the main street, the airport bus stops directly there, and service is great internet available at the room but must use LAN cable and charge per minute or per day. The walkway on each floor might be a bit confusing like a labyrinth. Location is good compared with value and you can just walk to the exhbition. From my experience, it might be quite hard to get a cab from the exhibition, therefore walking can be a good choice. The environment is quite good since there are also shopping malls near there. The best feature I love is that you can take a direct airport bus from Pudong Airport and the final stop is right at the hotel. Service is good as well, since we went arrive really early and they gave us a free room upgrade!

Cleaning of room was very good. Food at Peungyanggwan also very impressive. Especially transportation is very convenient. There are no place to enjoying moodish facility.
Most of things looks reasonable compare with price and convenient. Nothing to find a bad points.
It was good to business trip.

It is fairly close to the fabric market and other shopping areas.
Shopping Tip : Taxis were a good option because it wasn't too expensive to get places.

The hotel is conveniently located to the Domestic Airport, The prize money is nothing to be desired. A bit further away from "The Bund", but everything within easy reach. The hotel has a breakfast restaurant which unfortunately only Chinese or Japanese food offers. For Westerner is a small booth in the corner of the bread and butter only offers. Otherwise it can sometimes be very loud when people once again with their mobile phones to run across the corridor, which will, however, very quickly by staff to be issued in your room. The staff of the hotel has a lob earned: always very courteous and friendly! check in and check out is efficient and fast. At the hotel itself at any time of day and night time taxis. Unfortunately, the hotel at the taxi drivers are not yet familiar with Galaxy Hotel, just under the old name of Jinjiang Hotel.
Nightlife Tip : Hengshan Road is about 25 RMB from the hotel
