Great location but unsatisfied service

The room we got smells. Glass door for toilet isn't well fixed, always get stuck.
No guidiance to room after check in, no help with luggage, which is strange for a 5 - star hotel. Hotel stuff doesn't seem to be well trained with professional bussiness manner.
It was supposed to be a romantic weekend get away for me and boyfriend. However, the hotel kind of ruined our mood a bit.
It honestly doesn't worth the price we paid. Will not go back to same hotel for sure.

this hotel is located within a short walk to the oriental pearl tower and aquarium. there is a family mart and few restaurants in the building next to the hotel.
the pro side of this hotel --> the room; love the toilet and the bright room, the spa and swimming pool at level 30.
we booked the bund view; however the view from our room looks like just a normal river view ... cannot really see the bund. should not have paid for the extra for the bund view... also we are facing a building that is under construction ... was abit disappointing ... nothing to shout about for the view which i was expecting!!!
service wise, still need to improve. when we arrived by taxi, the guys standing outside the door was looking at us while we unload our lugguage from the taxi. it took them a while before they came over to help.

Hotel looks new. Rooms are super clean. Every staff that I've met is friendly with courteous.

swimming pool is nice and free but closes at 11pm.

i have travel on a lot of hotel in the world , and to stay in this one was really a great experience.
The service is really friendly and perfect all the time here for help you.
The rooms was really nice and the bar upstair really peacefull after a long days.
close your eyes because you can book without problem in this hotel.

pretty much a 5 star hotel - but not the same league as shangrila, hyatt
stayed there more for the convenience of location. rooms above average but below a 5 stars hotel. breakfast is so so.
nonetheless, its good location and comfortable

Average service levels as check in check out is inefficient. But its a good solid 4 star hotel if you are staying in Pudong. Rooms nice and Internet was free during my stay.

Don't expect much from service

the hotel staff needs a lot of training if this hotel want to be a real 5 star.
on check out i asked for a tax-invoice, first they tried to convince me that the normal hotel invoice is a tax-invoice which it isn't, at least in china.
after a few phone calls, the receptionist asked me to go to the cocktail bar to pick up the invoice. i told him if he thought i was his assistant or bellboy or something like that and demanded him to give me my invoice right there at that moment. obviously, he gave it to me but not before a while and a few more complains. this is something that can not be expected in any hotel no matter the stars.
additionally: be very careful with the taxis waiting at the door the hotel and their concierge friends.
