Nice Location but bad service

everytime i go back to stay at the apartment, never once would the staff say - welcome back! the turnover for counter staff are low but they'll never wear a smile on the face! rather, the security are more helpful! the reason for staying at the apartment is because of the convenience, the subway is within walking distance and lots of eateries around the area.
Shopping Tip:
People's Square is withing walking distance.... so is the subway

Great location and good service from hotel staff

The location of the hotel is probably its best selling point. It is near the subway station and in close proximity to the famous shopping street East Nanjing Road. As compared to the surrounding higher end hotels in the area, Citadines is an excellent choice if you are looking for an affordable stay and yet enjoy the same great location. The hotel staff is helpful and attentive to our needs. The hotel may not be entirely new but the apartment provides all the necessities that you would need.

do not miss shopping road just 5 minute walk from hotel and 5 minute walk from MRT also very convenient

Good Value for Shanghai

the location isn't too far from the eastern end of the bund, but you still need a taxi to get there. it's not in the center of the hustle and bustle of tourist shanghai, so it's a bit quieter, if shanghai can ever be considered quiet. the rooms are prefectly adequate, and include a small kitchen. so if you are staying several days, you can eat in.
we did not opt for the breakfast, as it didn't look that good as was fairly expensive. if you want a full breakfast, there is marriott just a few steps away which has an excellent breakfast, but will cost you about $us.
staff english is okay, but not great. i think they cater more to chinese than foreigners, but everything went fine.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
Across the street is a nice small park, which is nice for relaxing and getting out. The surrounding streets are entirely chinese and not touristy at all. English isn't spoken much in this part of town, but is much more authentic than other areas.

Shanghai not a user friendly city, not many English speakers in shops or taxis. Budget priced restaurants generally poor, better pay top dollar and eat well.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
Make sure you have local language cards, cab drivers have very little English and often cannot read maps.

front staff are prompt for checkin. english speaking staff available at front desk. grocery shops and many restautants are around on just walking distance so there is no problem
to get some food outside.
rooms are refurbished and facility available for cooking, tea
making, stove and microwave available.

Its ok for the money you pay.

ideal location, just 5 mins walk to people square's subway station and this station is a big transit station with 3 subway lines. and near to the nanjing road east and it is near to the bund. staff are helpful and friendly. it is better to have wireless Wifi in the room. Since it is a service apartment, you can cook in the room.
