Close to Shanghai Railway and Metro Line Stations A bit uncomfortable as to safety in the surrounding area. The Hotel is pretty basic and likely should have an International Star ranking of three start. Food service is basic and if you stay in the Great Wall Wing you must walk or drive via golf cart to the second wing for the buffet breakfast and dinner. No on site travel service and because the train station is close by there is not tourist friendy ticketing available nearby, one needs to be able to elbow your way through the crowds elbowing their way to the ticket windows at the Government railway ticket office. Cheap rooms for Shanghai and you get what you pay for.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Stay here if you want to have a base near the Shanghai Railway Station. Travel in and out of the ShangHai region via wonderful high-speed trains.

Good location, close to transport The hotel is right next to the main Shanghai Station, very easy to get to and from Pudong Airport via airport bus route 5 (bus stop sign only 2 minutes walk away). The rooms are very clean and quite new (recently refurbished I think) and big. Got a twin room but each bed are almost a double bed size. Would come back again.

The hotel is very near the train station but not really in the downtown area. Hotel staff were nice and accommodating. Hotel is old and needs to be refurbished. It is located in a not so good area where you can see the old Shanghai, dirty. I suggest you try the other Holiday Inn in the same area. Building is new and very near the railway station. Hotel room is old and needs to be refurbished. Overall, quite ok.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Near the Jade Buddha temple.

Our initial room wasn't suitable for a cot and the next room that they showed us was older and not really suitable either. After a bit more of a wait they finally gave us a suitable non smoking room.

On the Shanghai train station. Move convenient. When you go to Shanghai for the heart and feel of the hotel. Do not expect anything. And just for convenience, use at the time. The room, dark feel old. It's not suitable for women.
