The frontdesk staff is helpful
We managed to check in to hotel room early when we arrived at the hotel in the morning without paying extra. I guessed there were some rooms happened to be available.

Location and value for money
This is not the first time for me in this hotel. I always stay here whenever I have business meetings in Shanghai due to its central location, easy accessibility to pudong and puxi and value for money being a 5 star hotel.

Good Hotel but the F&B staff needs training
The hotel is really in a very central location and quite convenient. At check-in the manager said the magic words: "we would like to upgrade you" :-). The room was newly renovated and extremely convenient, clean, spacious, good lighting (!), lovely bathroom, windows that suppressed the noise from the roads beautifully, everything in great working condition . Perfect really. My only criticism is about the Food & Beverage area. The breakfast is not appealing. The same every day and very few healthy choices. So, unless congee, algae, soggy beans or scary looking eggs are your fancy in the morning, you might want to skip the breakfast and visit "Twosome" at Wheelock Square right across the street. The other issue is with the quality and attitude of the staff in the restaurant, Improper greetings, no help in identifying an empty table, no service, and grouchy faces. I know it is difficult to find quality staff in Shanghai these days (I have been living in Shanghai for the last 20 years...) but this team really needs help, training and management.

Great location, nice service
Location is great, nearby Jing-an temple and subway station. The gym is good as well. Good service and willing to help.

Great if youre a smoker
Well priced and a great central location near the Jing'an temple. The staff were friendly although having queued to check in for the first time, i was then advised i couldnt check in at the front desk and had to use the exec floor check in, having rode the elevator to the 26th floor I then got to queue again to check in. A needless and lengthy check in process for a person staying for the first time. Straight away the smell of smoke in the air is noticeable, i stayed in a none smoking floor but the fact smoking is allowed in the lobby/the lobby bar/ in corridors etc means the whole hotel smells of tobacco smoke. My room was clean and tidy, enough space to work and an internet connection that had an intermittent vpn working. View was nice although due to the location by 2 major roads it was slightly noisey until 1am. Most surprisingly was the 1am and 7am door knocks i received from people offering services, not something expected from a high quality hotel especially on an exec floor. Something to be taken seriously if repeat business is expected.
