Couples Singapore, April 06, 2013	near death experience location, location, location 4.3 it was such an utterly horrifying experience i strongly suggest all who are choosing this hotel to consider another option. the hotel was booked last minute as the trip was rather impromtu. we were deliberating between the one kempinski and jia but chose the latter for it's prime location as well as the price. the hotel was well camouflaged and it's entrance is so miserable that our cab missed it a few times. checking in was fast but the receptionist would better serve as a prison guard given her sullen expression and all queries were answered half heartedly, we were not even informed that there is complimentary breakfast. the room is musty and reeked of smoke, had musty wardrobes, tv cabinet doors which are precariously dangling, and no air circulation at all. We tried to switch the air con on as it was rather warm, but it’s managed as a central system. The carpet on the floor is badly stained. We called the front desk to request for a change of room to which they briskly claimed that all rooms are booked, which made us fuming mad as it was reflected on various booking sites that there is plenty of rooms available. We did not contest as we were exhausted after the flight. Showering was like combating flood, the drainage system clogs and I had to resort to digging out the sewage cover to avoid flooding the whole bathroom. Sleeping was a problem at night as there is practically NO AIR CON at all, the room which we booked had NO WINDOWS. I literally woke up a few times at night sweating like a pig. The second night was hell, we requested for a portable air conditioner, which served just as a fan. When we switch to the cooling function, it starts whirring as though an explosion is impending. Obviously, we requested for another since no purpose is served. The mechanic came in with a HEATER this time round. When we request for shower towels. The hotel brought us 4 facial towels and claimed that they do not have enough towels to go around, utterly absurd.

Lobby is one of the most comfortable areas to just hang around for a chat. Love the breakfast selection, however, we were there for 4 days and pretty much got tired of the selection after 4 days.

My colleagues and I ended up sitting around there having our discussion. One of the most comfortable lobbies I've been. Great location, just walk out and you are right smack in the middle of a shopping street. But I do feel it's abit over-priced.

Driver and I passed it a few times and we still couldn't find it until I called my colleague who has already checked in earlier. Great location, just walk out and you are right smack in the middle of a shopping street.

Couples China, December 26, 2012	Quiet and lovely hotel but terrible service Quiet, Convenient and Delicate decoration 7.3 This hotel is close to subway line 2, it's a good choice for you if you wants to travel via metro system. The entrance of the hotel is terrible!! Its check-in table is in the 2nd floor but there is no signs and instructions in the first floor. It took me over 10 mins to figure out the position to check-in. I love the decoration of my room especially the bed. However, outside the room, everyting is hidden. I tried to print a document there, and spent 10 mins to find a mystery entrance on the wall. All the computers are Mac, and they are not compatible with windows. If I had another chance, I would definitely not have breakfast in the hotel. That's the worst breakfast I had in all the chinese hotels. Checking out process is slow. In total, I love the hotel rooms, but everything outside your room is not good. Hotel Feature Tip: It's different from traditional hotels. But you can certainly find a better 5-star hotel in Shanghai spending the same price.
