great location,
large rooms recently furbished, very nice decor with almost all amenities.
service is mediocre and the lobby smells not so nice.
This hotel has a super location, hidden away off Huaihai Rd in it's own compound. in the middle of shanghai yet very peaceful. we took the room in the cathay building, classic room. room was pretty large, recently furbished, very nice decor with almost all amenities and overlooking the gardens and therefore are very quiet.
then there are the restaurants: chinese, japanese, indian, western and chinese seafood.... bottom line is: I WOULD STAY IN THE HOTEL AGAIN

great location, good staff, huge rooms with charm, but a little old in the Cathay Building.
the superior deluxe rooms in the cathay Building should have double windows. even so it's garden side, the street is very noisy.
We had a pleasant stay in the charming Jin Jiang Hotel. First we stayed at the Cathay Building, but as it was very noisy, they changed us to the Cathay Garden which I consider a very good service. Rooms are more modern at Cathay Garden, but quite small. The noise from the street disappeared, but instead we woke up from the noise of a machine, probably the climatisation on the roof , as we were on the 5th and last floor. Not only, the machine was noisy, but we could feel the vibrations. That should really be arranged. Otherwise, the service was very good, also at the business center, even so it was quite expensive. We never payed 10RMB for one copy.
Shopping Tip : very close to famous Huai Hua Road with all kind of shops, malls and all the facilities you need, also all kind of restaurants around, massage centers a some streets away smaller boutiques.

Good service at the Jin Jiang Hotel in best locations, very big rooms with charm, but a little old and dirty. We would come again, but it would be good to have a renovation of the Cathay Building. The food in the restaurant on the 14th floor was good and it was served late, even so the service was a bit slow.
Restaurant Tip : Jade Garden Restaurant close by, very nice, even so it's more expensive.

Dark and scary bathroom (but kinda interesting)
I had a minor kerfuffle at arrival when reception refused to check me in because my details weren't in their system. Turns out it was partly my fault because I'd only booked a few hours before, but both receptionists were quite rude. The woman told me I'd gotten the wrong hotel because they didn't have discounted rates through Agoda (?).
Apart from that, the stay was very comfortable. Loved the big rooms and tea facilities. Good location for shopping.

There are very artistic. Both rooms spacious bathroom.
Accommodation in the North Tower. The lobby is beautiful. The old walls and windows of the room is no choice.
Accommodation in the North Tower. The lobby is beautiful. The old walls and windows of the room is no choice. Difficult to use the blinds. Next time you want to stay in the south tower. On the linear and switching in the People's Square, People's Square station is large, so much乗換E,乗RI換EZU at People's Square, the taxi from the station where safe. Taxis are cheap in China, 200 is quite sufficient.
