Location - not too bad.
Spacious if unattractive room.
Ridiculously bad welcome and service at the front desk.
The worst breakfast I have ever had.
Rude housekeeping.
Constant lines at the lifts.
A truly dreadful hotel.
This is a hotel for bus-loads of tourist groups trapped into a big shabby hotel where nobody would want to stay. Breakfast was cold and disgusting, served by morons. No cuisine was correct, neither western, Chines, or Japanese.
At the front desk, they are unable to welcome you in a polite and efficient way. you can spend a long time trying to use the lift. Wait patiently in line and enjoy the shabby "ambiance".

Helpful staff at reception and rooms very clean
Terrible room service food
Bed very hard however staff provided extra quilt for comfort
This was not within walking distance to the city in hot weather but just a short taxi ride and there are plenty of taxis available. Great views of the Pearl Tower at night if you ask for a room facing south which reception were happy to oblige. Would not recommend the room service food as mine was terrible but breakfast downstairs was OK and plentiful. Staff all very helpful.

Without extra charge, I got a high rise room and the view was great.
