Changning - Hongqiao & INTEX

Changning – Hongqiao & INTEX is an important Shanghai district for business travelers and visiting government officials. It’s located a few kilometers west of the river in a residential area. A recent trend is resulting in more entertainment options, so commercial tourists are visiting this area more than they used to.

Shanghai Hongqiao International Airport is in the region. Locally, it’s secondary to Shanghai’s Pudong International Airport, but it still sees enough traffic to make it China’s fourth-busiest airport. Many of the hotels in Changning – Hongqiao & INTEX are business-oriented, catering for conferences staged in INTEX convention hall.

Hongqiao Road passes through the southern part of the district and has the best commercial prospects. Hongqiao Road metro station connects to the city center. This is an important transport link for anyone planning a visit to Changning’s favorite tourist attraction, Shanghai Zoo. The resident pandas here are wildly popular.

Changning hosts at least a dozen consulates, including those of Japan, Korea, Singapore, India and Switzerland. With so many diplomats, consular staff and people on passport business, accommodation in Changning – Hongqiao & INTEX features plenty of luxury suites and five-star service. There are not as many mid-range and budget hotels, though they can still be found in the area.

Past the Middle Ring Road to the west is Brilliance West Mall, the busiest shopping center in the area. It houses fashion boutiques, sporting goods outlets and department stores. It’s also one of the most convenient places to find a variety of restaurants.
