The location of the hotel is great. Walkable to nanjing east road, huaihai road. Hotel is also close to local food restaurants, with tons of street food around the area and things to see along the small roads. Hotel rooms is newly furnished and comfortable to stay in.
Travel tip:
Jia Jia Tang Bao is just across the street. The crab roe tang bao was fabulous!

it was a bit warm at night, with the thick blanket and "fan" mode airconditioning which is not adjustable. we did open the window at night. across the street there is a very big and bright lcd screen. it broadcasts the morning and nightly news, waking us up or keeping us awake.
good clean hotel, near subway
Travel tip:
use exit 2, when you get out, turn right then right again. hotel is beside citibank.

the wifi in the room is a great addition, can get quite noisy in the early mornings and evenings. there is a self laundry area in the 4th floor. eating and convenience stores are everywhere. the bellhops were very friendly.

The Hotel is nice and very confortable to stay with.
easy excess to Metro and surrunded by restaurant and near to the bund, Shanghai Temple and Nan Jin road-shopping street by taxi. will stay back to same hotel next trip. but it seem like the room charges have been increased compare last year.
The Bad thing is the internet didn't work out.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
The bund is nice to visit.

Old appearance from outside but modern interior
Situated in the main shopping area and next to subway.

I reached the hotel from the airport using subway and it was very easy to find it since the hotel was situated next to the subway.No complaints about the receptionists but did not look friendly. Room was very clean and modern.Ideal location for shopping.Famous Nanjing pedesrian street is only a 10 miutes walk from the hotel.This is a major plus point.Internet signels were ok.

Excellent location and value for money

Stayed for 6 days last October. The location allows you to really enjoy the city in all aspects. No need to use hardly any transportation, I was able to really get to know Shanghai walking around using the hotel as base. Very recommended.

Perfect Hotel in a perfect Location

The Hotel is newly renovated and therefore everything is very new. It is a very lovley hotel with experienced stuff. The room offers you a very nice bath with a shower, free internet (in our room also wlan, seems they installed that now), and it is really a four star hotel, which is not always the case in china if you book a four star hotel.
The location is just next to a metro station and it is very easy to catch a taxi in front of the hotel.
We stayed there for five days and if we come back to Shanghai one day we will for sure stay in the Marvel Hotel (former YMCA) again.
Restaurant Tip:
Just go out of the hotel and at the crossing turn left. On the right side of the street is a nice hotpot restaurant and next to it a good chinese restaurant.
