the room was so good that i didn't want to go out to look around in shanghai! if i had more time, i would definitely not leave the hotel for about 3 days! the room was so clean, and it was very large with brand new furniture. the staff knows english unlike the other staff in other hotels in china. it is completely worth of the price you give.

Great furnishing and excellent location
Historical hotel that has been refurnished stylishly to a boutique hotel level. Metro station right next door.

My flight was scheduled to arrive at 700am and I attempted but failed all attempts to contact the hotel to request for early check in. However once I arrived, the front desk staff was kind enough to allow check in as early as 830am.
Noise could be heard from shops downstairs but it did not interrupt sleep.
Restaurant Tip:
there are lots of eating places around the hotel. a mcdonalds if you're desperate, is located just before the metro station.

the hotel has a really great location, its just right smack in the city and everywhere is within reach just by walking or even taking the subway ! the rooms are fantastic, modern and chic, it is a real surprise that the outlook of the hotel is old and preserve but the interior of the place is amazing, its like a time portal.
overall ! a great and fantastic hotel !

Take line 2 metro from Pudong airport and transfer to line 8 and stop at dashejia (7cny). Exit 2 walk right hand side 3 minutes is the hotel.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
surrounded by restaurant. must try famous jiajia xiao lung bao located left side of the hotel across traffic light about 1 minutes next to guilin noodle house. we tried all the xiao lung bao and this one is the best. nanjing rd on the tight hand side of the hotel about 10-15 minutes walk also the bund same area. yunyun garden on the left side of the hotel about 10 minutes walk.

Easy to reach either by subway or taxi. Lots of food choice arround

Very happy staying on whole trip. The room is clean and bright although our romm faces to the main street but it is still quiet inside. Service is good with nice staffs. Do not have to worry about food cause there are a lot of restauramts arround the hotel.

The rooms are modern but on the cosy side. Great location, walking distance to everything.

the staff only speaks basic english, i think they should learn more comprehensive english. but in saying that, we got our message across eventually.
also, the hotel provides only 2 tea bags, 2 tea sachets in loose leaf form. no sugar or milk! we asked for sugar and milk and they charge extra for it! they told us to buy our own milk and sugar.
breakfast was cold! how would you like bacon and eggs cold?? the convenience stores and other restaurants are just around the corner, they provide hot breakfast.
otherwise our stay at the marvel was quite pleasant and great value for money.
Hotel Feature Tip:
Bring your own tea, coffee, sugar and milk. Or if you have breakfast at the hotel, just help yourself to the sachets of sugar that is provided with your breakfast and don't tell them!
