A well run hotel in the most central location
Basically a very nice hote,l right next-door to Nanjing Road

The hotel is not only next to the main shopping and recreation areas, it is next door to a central subway station. You walk out of the hotel and turn left - follow the stream of people strolling around enjoying themselves during weekends, or rushing around for their shopping and/or working appointments at other times. Early morning, you have the morning Qi Gong exercise being performed in front of the subway station. The hotel itself is clean and well looked after. All rooms have beautiful views over the town; especially at night and from the top floor. The reception always have at least one English speaker. Lots of interesting restaurants across the road if you get tired of the very acceptable restaurant run by the hotel. If you leave early, remember that the breakfast staff also come early to prepare. Everyone is very accommodating.

I checked into the hotel early in the day, but then left until later in the night. When I got back, I sat on the bed and realized immediately that it was rock hard. I have shoulder problems, so I knew that a bed like this would make it impossible for me to sleep. I got arguments from all of the staff related to switching my room, giving me a lot of extra blankets to pad the bed a bit more, and getting my money back. I also think that for what I got, I overpaid excessively. A hostel would have been just as comfortable at half or less than half or the price.

You cannot complaint that much with the money you paid for this hotel. The location is so convenience to connect you the tourism destinations in ShangHai. The staff is friendly and helpful.

My parents, husband and I loved the location of Nanjing hotel even though some taxi drivers may not know the small street where the hotel is initially. The hotel is less than 50 steps to the main Nanjing road shopping belt and the train station is also close-by. Just opposite the hotel is a row of eateries and a 24 hour convenience store. Late in the night the small street comes alive with vendors selling food and little things like socks, etc.

Good value for money. Rooms might be small but doesn't really matter for someone like me who's only need is a bed to sleep in. Strategic location that's 3 minutes walk from East Nanjing Road and the metro. The hotel is a heritage site.
Travel tip:
At least 7 restos, 1 coffee shop and 1 convenience store just opposite the hotel. 5 minute walk to the metro and save yourself some taxi money.

Quite ok. Hotel is located near to Metro gate. We can buy ticket for hotel's Breakfast or have breakfast with so many small restaurants in front of hotel.
Hotel staff is friendly enough andcan help us to buy ticket for expo, train, etc
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
Good location and you can go any tourist site from hotel by public transportation: metro, bus, taxi.

No frill hotel at perfect location

Booked the Nanjing Hotel as it is close to the Metro and it is very close. If you get out of the right exit, it is only less than one minute from the exit. The hotel is just off the main pedestrian shopping strip Nanjing Road and so you have very handy location but have very quiet room. The room deco is a bit out dated but at least it is clean and tidy.
