The hotel is centrally located in core shanghai. MTR station is just a few minutes walk away. There is a garden in front of the hotel, so the view of room is panoramic. The hotel has a very long history and you can visit the podium portion for its detailed architecture. The hotel provides several restaurants for breakfast options which is not common for other hotels.

2nd time to stay at this property. I like this hotel as it is close to subway station and the staffs are courteous and polite. I also enjoy their breakfast buffet. I will definetely stay this hotel again.

good but still not happy with the service factor,check in was handled with lots of time waste and unhealthy secnario,need upgrade the management,and worst they have health club and swimming pool,which is mentioned will booking, but need pay for it even though its a 5 star, and its not mentioned any where while booking the hotel.i thought in 5 star service the health club like just normal swimming, gym are always free to use,
Travel tip:
for business travel who dont have to use anything in hotel is fine,but for leisure i think add another US$100 for other activities just like swim, some little entertainment games, etc.

Possibly the best thing about this hotel is the convenient location, on the same subway line as major sightseeing areas such as the Bund, Xintiandi, Yuyuan Gardens, etc. Smack dab in the middle of the former French Concession, the neighbourhood is charming with lots of restaurants and shopping. The original building has some beautiful art deco touches while the rooms in the tower are clean and comfortable if not particularly spacious. Staff are very helpful; restaurants are adequate but nothing special. Overall good value for money.

Location and service are good enough to pay for this room charge. Only regreting point is old equipment and interior. However, it is worthy to consider staying in this hotel, compared to the room charge.
Japanese restaurant (used for dinner) is excellent, and hotel buffer (used for breakfast) is standard.
