I have stayed many times at this hotel, the bathrooms and carpet could use a freshening up and the installation of free WiFi would be more than helpful.
The staff is always helpful and resourceful.

nice hotel, clean and not far from underground and shopping malls, but the checking in and out service was really slow. The staff could not provide much information and high quality of service.

In the middle of Business Area and Tourist points

hotel is big and just near a famous sighseeing location ("tower of peral"). about 8 mins walk to mrt station.
hotel is also located near the river with great view. i am living in the garden view, but the view still be excellent.
the room is big and clean.
however, the staff have low efficient and credit card system is a mess.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
Sighseeing Tunnel near the hotel is the worst visiting point.

Near the Bund area, TV Tower, and riverside walk. Good for taxis and general shopping areas

The convention centre first puts a bit of dissapointment in you until you see the well layed out lobby. We were greated by english speaking door men and friendly staff in general overall.
Good overall location for a riverwalk tour and all tourist activities can easily be found with the big bus tour on the blue line

Big bus tours pick you up outside the hotel

Lovely hotel with a great location
Near major tourist attractions, shopping and dining establishments...very convenient. Also near subway stations.

all in all, i had a pleasant stay at the historic oriental riverside hotel. probably the only complaint that i have is the difficulty in setting the room aircon controls. i would stay here the next time and even recommend the hotel to friends and associates.
Hotel Feature Tip:
You should try the swimming pool at the 8th floor...they also have very good fitness equipments.
