This hotel have a perfect location, you can walk to Nanjing Dong lu which is not far and this hotel is opposite to Metro Line 2 (people's square). You can be sure that your transportation is very convenient, both by Metro Line and by bus. The room is well interior decoration and clean. One thing that I don't like is paint smell inside the room. The receptionists and porter are very nice. There are a lot of restaurant behind the hotel so you are undoubted for your meal.

The Park Hotel is one of those "grand Dame" hotels with lots of history. The hotel was renovated , I think, in 1996. It still has charm and an art deco feel. The strongest point, I feel, is it's location. It is directly across from the metro center, People's Park, and right by the pesdestrian shopping street. The Shainghai Museum is in the Park...all very walkable.
This lets the visitor have easy access to some of Shainghai's delights.
Restaurant Tip : Exit hotel going right. Again go right at corner and walk up one block to great seafoos restaurant. Forgot name, but you can see a very large fish tank in the lobby of restaurant., Ask for an upper room for parties.

Convenient location
Friendly staff with proficient English
Somewhat dated appearance, some areas needing renovation Park Hotel is a good value in Shanghai with a very convenient location just across from People's Square and the Metro Line 2. The appearance and some rooms are dated but the staff are very efficient, helpful, and proficient at English. A short walk away is the famous Nanjing Road pedestrian shopping area, a fantastic mix of modern and traditional Chinese shopping venues.
Hotel Feature Tip : Very easy and inexpensive transportation from Pudong airport: take the Maglev train, then connect to Line 2 subway and exit at People's Square; the Park Hotel is across the street from Exit #8.

location , location , location bar service a bit slow, but nice staff
This a very nice hotel. It has that 20s/30's flare that was so much of Shanghai society. The hotel was redone in 1996 replications it's former glory.
Great location..metro across the street, can walk to museums and the has a great pedistrian shopping street (go out the door to your left & cross street to under ground passageway).
The metro is safe and very clean. We are looking forward to returning.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : very easy to get back & forth. there are several options: walking (always a delight) taxi, metro.
Make sure to have comfie walking shoes & get a hotel address (business card for taxi drivers)

Close to the main shopping district and tourist attractions. Some rooms are not clean with very dirty carpets and stained bedding. I had stopped at the Park Hotel earlier in the year and I had found that occasion to be very enjoyable.On this occasion, the first room that I was offered was of a poor standard with dirty floor covering and stained bedding.
To the credit of the staff, an alternative room was provided and found to be satisfactory.
although I enjoyed my stay, i would do a comparison with similar hotels in the area to decide on where I would stay on future visits.

It is the worst hotel I stayed in over the past 10-15 years.
Hotel Feature Tip : At night, the area around the hotel is quite shady. The restaurant in the hotel should work till 10 pm, but it stops working before 8 pm.

1. People's Square subway station walk two minutes to nearly two things. Classic Hotel in a historic atmosphere in the interior and exterior, reminiscent of the 1936 photos from the ancient years. 1. Reception inadequate response 2. Bath tub poor drainage 1. Reception for too few people who stayed. This is because reception in the Hospitality is estimated that up to lack, quiet time is non-believes should be reduced by increasing the number of customers waiting for more. 2. the location in the center, and renovated rooms in the more expensive class of beautiful views and have been well equipped. The internet is ridiculously expensive, 30 yuan for 15 minutes while in the internet shop at 2 minutes away 3 yaun per hour The hotel location is superb t; vlankbij Nanjing Lu and the Shanghai Museum. Far away from the Bund is now a huge mess (summer 2009) by building site. The art deco look of the lobby is great and you should not take the standard rooms but the more luxurious, then you have a top view and bathroom, a desk, refrigerator and a safe.
Restaurant Tip : The best restaurants are at some distance in the French Concession
