Every time an Agoda customer checks out of a hotel we send them an email asking them to write a review of their stay. This is the only way reviews can be submitted. Every review must then be approved by our content team before being posted on the Agoda website. Therefore, unlike many other travel sites, ALL Agoda reviews are certified and genuine.

This can be good value, tho the price does seem to vary a lot up n down a lot. It feels pretty new. It’s a great business hotel. It’s probably not the most romantic hotel in the world if you’re looking for something that grabs your heart strings. It is used for conferences and the like. It does have a garden view and an outside face area, which is unusual for shanghai. It is in a great area, just a short walk to Tin Zi Feng, which is a cool area of old chinese houses that have been refurbished in to faces and restaurants and a few bars and little arty shops. Its not too far from the rest of the French concession. There are cheaper Starbucks & pacific coffees shopes in the huge shopping mall across the road if you want to avoid the expensive fare in the hotel. Do try this place.
Nightlife Tip:
There are two major areas to go eating at night. Xin Tian Di has a lot of bar with bad Filippino copy bands and is quite yuppy. Tian Zi Feng is more quaint, with more diverse restaurants and quirky shops. About 5 min walk from the hotel is an area of old lanes that has been refurbiched to house a hundred small restaurants. They are old chinese houses and some have upstairs and some even have balconies. There are a few odd and ecclectic shops. This is probably my favourite area in Shanghai. You will find many Asian flavours, indian, thai, japanese, italian and more. There are small shops sellings ouvenirs, fake ties, leather writing books and original 50's sunglasses. As usual in China, buyer beware.

Good Hotel but surely not worth the money
5
This hotel is good when paying 800RMB but for sure it it not worth 1600RMB. It claims to be a 5 Star but the details are wrong. Upon check in I was asked if I want a Smoking or Non Smoking room and I said a non smoking, nevertheless I was given a smoking room. My Bedlinen war dirty when I came from my business meetings and after complaining it they changed the blanked but the line was still dirty. The breakfast is too expensive for what I offers

5 Star Hotel that has a lot to improve
5.3
this hotel claims to be a 5 star hotel and charges like that but in my eyes it is only a 4 star hotel. it appears nice and clean in the first view, but a second view reveals a lot of minor defects such as not so clean bathroom, not so nice carpets and a stuff that is not always up to the expectations of a 5 star hotel. for sure there are many better hotels for lower prices in shanghai

Good location and big room
Help front desk staff, nice room, near to subway, lots of restaurants nearby
9
the front desk couldn't find my agoda booking on their system when checked in and room was full. they sorted me out with an upgrade room with no extra charge. the room was big and a luxuray. the hotel is less than a stone throw to the subway and has lots of nice restaurants around. the only downside is the pool/gym was closed for maintenance during the entire stay. all in all it was a very good stay and will recomend to anyone.
