very good location and perfect service
i had nice feeling when i first get in the room..everything was clean and well done. the gym ad the swimming pool. i really enjoyed over there. if i ll have ever a change to go to shanghai..that s a place to be!

The Rui Jin is an excellent hotel in the centre of Shanghai. The rooms are spacious, extremely comfortable and very well equipped. The service is prompt and first class. Set in gardens the accommodaion is in low rise villas. Several of the buildings are of historical interest.
At present, the hotel is going through a phase of new development. Much of the central grassed area has been given over to new construction. However, there are still areas where you can walk in welcome tranquility compared to the streets outside. The hotel is taking great care to ensure that the building work does not create undue noise but it does mean that guests now have to take rather circuitous routes when going to the reception block and the restaurants. Breakfast is not up to its formmer high standard and is somewhat cramped. A big change here! Unfortunately, the duck pond has been swallowed up and some of the quiet, outside bars and cafes where you used to be able to sit in the evening have also disappeared. The hotel is also a valued venue for weddings. These can be a little noisy and detract from the privacy one might want. But the noise does not permeate yor room. In fact, you might quite like to see a sumptuous Chinese wedding in full flow.
The Rui Jin is without doubt a thoroughly excellent hotel. Set in extensive grassed grounds, it is an oasis of calm in the bustle of Shanghai. The low rise villa accommodation is a very welcome change to the high rise blandness of so many other hotels in Shanghai.The rooms are first class with nothing left forgotten for even the most discerning and demanding guest.
It has to be said that currently the hotel is going through a phase of new construction work. This has inevitably taken away some of the great former charm of the hotel grounds. However, knowing the high standards of taste and care of the hotel management, I am confident that the new developments will be achieved with great attention to the needs of guests.
Restaurant Tip : The cuisine of the hotel is very good. If you are unfamiliar with Chinese cuisine, just ask and you will be guided.

best garden hotel I've ever been, colonial mood and european style
bit pricey, but it suits well if you're after quality of service
Ruijin will always be my favorite hotel in shanghai, if you try to upgrade yourself in the executive room, this will really give you value of your money and high quality of service. you would feel like you're part of the elite people that stayed in the hotel.
Breakfast buffet is ok, suits chinese market more than european but its not that bad.
Near huaihai lu shopping area.
Shopping Tip : take a stroll down to huaihai lu only 10 minutes strides away from ruijin hotel
