everything is fine with the hotel. it had a nice large bathroom. only don't buy anything extra as costly and better items (food/massage? can be found outside/near by. except coffee.
Restaurant Tip:
Don't pay for the restaurant food. It is not worth the price

Friendly and approachable staff

The staff is very friendly and is able to give advise to places of attraction etc. There is a food street right below the hotel which comes alive at night. The room is spacious and some of the room can oversee the bund. However, the hotel is slightly far from the Metro. The internet access in the room is very slow.

good location, easy to travel to pudong or to other places in puxi. walking distance to the no. 2 line, nanjing east station subway if you do not want to catch a taxi. walking distance to the bund for night sightseeing and good cafe. walking distance to the raffles by capita land for great lunch and dinner choices. or hongyi plaza for japanese food. catch a 10-15mins cab ride to xiaotiandi paulauner pub, great live music and beer.
Restaurant Tip:
Walking distance to this restaurant, Jean George, a bit pricey but tasty food, good value for business or dating meals. Sure to impress.

Lovely hotel and service with a smile
Location is well situated with lots of food and shopping.

Very pleasant stay. The room is spacious and clean, overlooked Westin Hotel, The Bund, Pearl Tower and other buildings. Took fantastic view. Great pictures of the bund surrounding, with famous buildings were taken directly from the room we are staying.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
The bund, make sure you view the bund from the viewing platform.
Pearl Tower, very lousy restuarant service, rude security guard, expressionless and rude lift attendance. But the view is fantastic.

Great location and big rooms
Located just 10 mins walk to the bund, 5 mins walk to nanjing road

Stay was pleasant, nice big hotel room with fantastic view. Oversees the bund, and westin hotel. My husband took alot of nice night shoots from our bedroom itself.

Great Hotel and Location, Large Rooms
We loved the location of this hotel. Also the resturant is on the 31st Floor, Great Views, Very friendly and helpful staff

we were within easy woalking distance to the bund abd walking street but plenty of smaller local shops out the front door.
the concierge and staff were very helpful and transaltions for the taxi's.
our room was large with a living room and seperate bedrooms and is as expected fromt he website.
would happily stay there again

very nice hotel in a good location

we will recommend the salvo to our friends when they visit shanghai.it represents very good value for money.it's well located for walking to good shoppping and the shanghai museum.
the front desk staff could try to be more friendly , but we did meet one young man who was exeptionally helpful.also , the broadband should be more reliable.
all in all , no real complaints.

Room with a view!!

Salvo hotel is comfortable with breakfast and view that I extended my stay from 3 days to 7 days. Club floor on the 31th floor is nice with coffee and fruit and snack except that the coffee is not served without asking for it and the snacks is served limited time only. Room does not have wifi, is line connection only. Wifi is available on first floor and 31th floor only, but it is not reliable. Breakfast is excellent!!

Comfortable tourist class, good location

this is primarily a tourist class hotel that will work for business people on a budget. the biggest complaint for the business traveler is that the furniture is very uncomfortable..especially the desk chair. furniture is old-school, gold-trimmed, heavy wooden furniture. it's also kind of dark in the desk area of the suite. but i've stayed here a couple of times now and would stay again. the location is great, the price is right, the breakfast is adequate.
Restaurant Tip:
Found some excellent small hole-in-the-wall restaurants in the alleyways just to the north of the hotel. It helps to speak Mandarin, but people were generally helpful anyway.
