Great location in middle of town, close to subway stations, many cafes nearby, and many great local eateries

we were in shanghai for business for a few days, and glad we chose the salvo hotel . it was the perfect location to get around shanghai, and just s few minute walk to the peoples square area. the room was very spacious with a separate office area, which was perfect for our stay. the breakfast buffet was soso, but average for breakfast in china. the great surprise was the japanese restaurant downstairs, sushi jin. the quality of sushi and sashimi is very high. ambiance is nice and modern.

a very good location, just a couple blocks away from the bund. rooms are clean, and there is a large bathtub which is a nice rarity to be had for hotels in this price bracket in china.
breakfast was okay with some western options like bacon, hash browns, and coffee.

Cons: bathroom needs updating, furniture extremely uncomfortable, poor internet service (wifi only in lobby), tired-looking facilities.

the rooms were good.
the restuarant was very poor. quality of service very poor.
buffet foods not presented at all well. no hot tea or coffee.
hot foods not kept hot and presentable. selection very poor.
waitresses and staff not at all service trained and un- professional.
