Great location - accessable & central. Well known by locals.

Rooms are slightly tired looking

Surrounded by well know landmarks like Plaza 66, Ritz Calton, etc one cannot miss the hotel. Certainly will remain as one of my choice hotels if rates remain reasonable. Suitable for both business and leisure travellers. Staff are friendly and helpful which makes my stay always pleasant.

Centrally located, clean and neat, helpful staffs esp in advising where to get what and help to communicate to the taxi drivers, efficient charge in and charge out.

None.

I would come back to this hotel and recommend to those interested to stay near ammenities in Shanghai. Within walking distance for good food, shopping, sight seeing. Room is clean and neat, staffs are helpful and fast charge in and charge out. Good to include a small map of hotel card as some taxi do not know where is the hotel.

Shopping Tip : Near to "Book City" which is at Fu Chou Lu where there are obviously books and hugh collections of video/audio DVDs.

Location of the hotel was good.

Hotel rooms and corridors desperately need renovation. Very dated rooms and quite aged. Main lobby was also quite impersonal, but service was not too bad.

The hotel was rather overpriced for what it offered. Although the location was good, the rooms definitely did not appear to be 5-star. They were dated and desperately in need of renovation, particularly the carpets, cupboards and bathroom. While the lobby was large and can pass off as a 5-star hotel, it was rather impersonal. Service, however, was alright, and possibly quite good for Shanghai standards.

Restaurant Tip : Ritz Carlton and Plaza 66 opposite have a nice french bakery cafe and a starbucks respectively. Good choices for brekkie, if you, like me, had a room that did not include b/f.

Inexpensive 5* Hotel in good location, close to high end shopping venues as well as to typical chineese markets with flair.

No significant disadvantages

Even though a 5* hotel it is definitely not on the same level with Kempinski or Park/Grand Hyatt standards. Interior as well as exterior design and finishes are not state of the art, finishes appear to be aged. However, for the prices offered this is a great bargain with good service and amenities. Large pool and work out space. Good room size. We also received without a problem a connected room for our kids.

Travel tip : Across the street, right at the Ritz Carlton you will find a fantastic french bakery, a starbucks as well as a nice breakfast restaurant on the second floor with out door terrace.

I been there for 3 times in the role as we attened yearly ALTM in Shanghai, the location was good next to the exthibition center.

The room in aegs and inther net in room was very expencive 120 Y. per day and slow connection. Staff in the front office not helpful,

As the hotel member can feel that the hotel have to manay new staff in the front office, can not help clients on the moment need to wait for the supervisor to make decision, byt the internet support staff was good try to help, but it still not working.

As usual - an pleasant stay at JC Mandarin Guest Rating: 9.3

I believe this is my 3rd stay at this hotel, this is my hotel of choice whenebver I visit Shanghai on a business trip, the staff are always very warm & helpful. Very convenient location

The water from the shower did not get as warm as I would have expected and I often had to make it fast as not to be unconfortable.

It might not be as fancy as some of the other five star hotels out there, but the location is very convenient, the hotel very clean, and the staff friendly. My room had the prettiest view facing east and the sunrises were to die for. I highly recommend it and will consider it again on my next visit.

Very good location, easy to reach all spots. Freindly staff and good room service. I will stay there again and reccomend the place to my friends

The rooms needs particulary a renovation, not urgently because they keep it nice and clean but in the "corners" you can see its a bit "older". Most bad, after 01:00 am the local taxi drivers meet behind the Hotel and the bussling keeps on for hours and hours and makes it difficult to fall in sleep

Over all it is OK and the ballance between price and what you get is absolutely acceptable exept the noises from the taxis during the night. Thtas a real disturb

Shopping Tip : Very good for shopping, lots of malls around

Fantastic decor and room service. You are really pampered.

None that I could observe.

This was a benchmark hotel in terms of service and facilities at the stated budget. I wish more hotels could emulate this.

Hotel Feature Tip : The housekeeping staff actually ensures that they leave authentic Chinese strings with decorative things in it to ensure that you get a good sleep. They spoil you with their care.

The JC Mandarin is in a great location for shopping, eating out and general relaxing over a long weekend. It suited the needs of my daughter and I perfectly. This is our second stay at the JC and we will definitely continue to stay here when ever we come to Shanghai.

The only thing we don't like about the JC is the breakfast buffet. Unfortunately the egg station lets the high quality of the hotel down as the eggs are always undercooked. For this reason, we always eat breakfast across the road at Element Fresh or Paul.

The JC Mandarin is centrally located on Nanjing Road West. It is reasonably priced and has wonderful pool and room facilities. The JC Mandarin is our hotel choice for when we stay in Shanghai. The staff are very friendly and helpful and are always willing to advise on night entertainment. We will definitely stay at the Mansarin again.

Shopping Tip : The new Marks and Spencers store is just a short walk away.

very well situation in the city , easy to move every where.

The breakfast is too expensive and prohibitive.

In short a good hotel to stay in the city except the breakfeast buffet is much too expensive.

I find the J C Mandarin great for business as they can arrange for anything you want. The front desk are very helpful and all staff speak very good English which makes a difference. Hotel cars and taxis are always available. Good breakfast. Good service.

Travel tip : This hotel is more for the business traveller. it is somewhat impersonal due to the size but staff speak good English and are very helpful in arranging anything i.e. train tickets, air tickets etc.
