This Hotel needs a refurbishment. The staff are fine and the general condition Ok. But it competes with hotels that are in a better overall condition for very similar prices. Take a look at the HOJO opposite.

We will stay at this hotel on our next visit to Shanghai.
We were so delighted that the Nankin East Road pedestrian mall was right at doorstep and the Bunds , People Square as well as the metro are at easy walking distance. We would recommend this hotel to anyone.

This hotel doesnt deserve the Sofitel brand

My friend who travels a lot came to stay with me and when she saw the room, she said its not sofitel at all. As far as we know, sofitel is a LUXURY hotel. The room furnitures are old, faded wood. The TV is chunky, not even LCD. My friend said that most of the equipment in the gym are broekn. The sauna was small with broken showerheads. The Sauna seat itself collapsed. The towels had holes. The sauna area didnt offer relaxation at all. This hotel badly needs a make over. The lobby itself is sofitel trademark no doubt. but please renovate other areas. Maybe thats why its an affordable sofitel hotel.
