convenient transportation and peaceful surrounding

construction noise and dust

I stayed at Eton, Pudong for 4 nights arriving on Dec.15 and departing on Dec.19. The reception was professional. The room was cleanly and tidily equipped with all necessities. The stay was very comfortable and relaxing. I wish there would have been more time to swim in the heated pool and exercise in the fitness cente. The cusines in various restaurants look quite good but there was no time to visit. I definitely choose Eton@Pudong when going to Shanghai next time.

Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Travelling by Metro (subway) is quite convenient. It is important to check the weather forecast since it can be very cold in the mid of Dec.

Excellent 4 to 5 star hotel for the money

They need to change the music, it drives you crazy, stay there for 10 days and all the time the exact same music, I still can hear in my head 3 months afterwards

The Eton is an excellent hotel, I have been in Shanghai around 30 times and been in all kind of 4 and 5 star hotels, I would say it is one of my top choices hotels in Shanghai, and even though there are some people unhappy with the location, the subway is across the street and if you are just a little daring you will notice that the subway in Shanghai is extremely easy to use

Clean room,bathroom area,LCD in the bathroom,amenities,good restaurants,comfortable bed,nice everthing...

Nothing really...

I tried the fast train for an experience from the airport. It was a very fast one, amazing being in a train cruising at 431 km/h. In 6 to 7 minutes we were in the city, but when did exit, findig a taxi to the hotel was a huge problem, the taxi drivers did not speak any English and seemed like they did not understand the Chinese written hotel address I showed them, then when I called the hotel and handed the phone to the driver, suddenly he understood but refused to start the meter asking 7 times more than the meter rate. It was the low point to het to the hotel after all, but the hotel was really great, excellent amenities in rooms with a big size LCD TV, and another LCD TV in the bathroom, very clean room as well and the hotel itself. Helpful staff, good restaurants. Being a business traveller myself, spending more time in hotel rooms than my home, I really loved the hotel, I would definately stay there again. 2 thumbs up. By the way Agoda rate was exceptional, 91 USD/night compared to 215 USD/night I got for an extra night at the door.

Room was of a very high standard Good entertainment provided in the bar / resturant of the 4th floor. Hotel was very handly placed across the road from an underground station.

length of time it took to check out in the morning.

My stay at the Eton Hotel in Pudong was a pleasant suprise...better than I had anticipated. The rooms fixtures and fittings were of a very good standard although the room always seemed hot even after turning air conditioning to cool and temperature down to 15 degrees. Unfortunately I did not have time to make use of some of the hotels facilities such as the health centre. The food and beverages were not overly priced and all up I thought my stay was very good value for money.

Hotel Feature Tip : The hotel had very good entertainment in house on the 4th floor but the patrons did not seem to either know about it or appreciate it...it was very quiet but I thought the sisters singing were excellent

Excellent Location

The staff was a bit cool but overall is good

The hotel is just right on top of the Metro (Pudong Ave. Station, Line 4) which is extremely convenient for going out. And there is no tall buidling next to the hotel so most of the rooms are able to have an excellent Pudong or River view. The room is clean and tidy, also providing a quality toiletries. Besides there is a big round hot tub in the Deluxe Room. Moreover the restaurant on the 3/F also serving a very quality breakfast buffet.

Restaurant Tip : I love the hotel breakfast so much, nice restaurant and the food was good....!!!

Small, but functional, well appointed room. Beautiful, modern decor. Great view. Friendly, helpful staff.

Area immediately around the hotel is currently under major construction. Traffic pattern for entrance to hotel is affected. Air was very dusty when we visited in October...this on top of Shanghai's already poor air quality.

The Eton is a very nice hotel and a great bargain. The rooms are small but very functional. Our had a great view towards Puxi, the "bottle opener", Pearl TV Tower, and the river. We were only there for 1 night, but we would have gladly stayed longer. We will definitley be back, but we'll probably wait until the road construction around the hotel is completed.

The decor, the service, the buffet, the facilities and amenities all earn a five star rating from me.

Only draw back is the location of the hotel is not convenient

I was greeted by the bell captain with a friendly welcome and the reception desk took less than ten minutes to process my check in. I was assigned a gorgeous room on the 20th floor with all the luxuries and amenities I could imagine in a well appointed room. The elevators were state of the art and the hallways were artistically decorated. The buffet dinner was out of this world for the price. It is a superb facility for the price and I will stay here again when I am in Pudong.

Restaurant Tip : The buffet lunch/dinner at Eton is a food lover's HEAVEN.

Hotel Dining Choices

The mattress was somewhat less comfortable than the Raddisson

Over-all, I feel that my experience (stay) at the Eton Hotel was an enjoyable and restful one. I especially appreciated the numerous restaurants and venues inside the hotel. I was able to enjoy a good meal, of whichever type (Chinese, American, Seafood, etc.), without having to locate and travel to an appropriate -other- location. This is especially important for me since I am in need of rest and ease of accommodation when staying at a hotel.

Great service. Nothing was too much! Great exec floor with free drinks from 5:30 - 7:30pm.

Not clear if internet would be charged or not. Says exec floor is free internet - but then when you connect you have to accept the payment fees. Check out there were no fees. Would be clearer if this was removed.

Nice hotel but currently impacted for developments for the World Expo - May 2010. Then again, half of Shanghai is. Everything you need is avilable from the hotel and yohan shopping centre is only a 11 Yuan taxi ride away. No problems with the front desk, unlike comments I had read. Room serviced twice daily - breakfast included in room rate. Would stay here again.

nice view, reasonable price

the rate doesn't come with breakfast, if included breakfast would be perfect!

Eton hotel hotel is a normal hotel with a good modern design inside the room. the view is nice, the night view of shanghai city and the river is impressive looking from our room. Be sure to ask the front office arrange a nice view room and higher floor for you, if not it will be a waste staying at eton!

Very comfortable, great swimming-pool, nice view, metro station opposite the hotel

Odd surroundings

We stayed in an executive room worth the extra price: free breakfast, free Internet access, free access to club lounge with free food and drinks, high floor. The room is very comfortable and the swimming-pool much larger than usual (25 meters long). The view towards Pudong's buildings is really impressive, specially at night. Nothing to do or see around the hotel, but the metro is right in front of the hotel and Shanghai metro system is very efficient and easy to use, although sometimes crowded. Otherwise, taxis are very cheap for those who prefer. I would certainly go back to the Eton if doing business in Pudong as we were.

The Hotel is very nice and very well organised, the swimming poll is very nice and the bedrooms are very nice too.

The Hotel now is in the middle of all the road works , this is why we think we paid a cheap price, and there is a Costa bar just outside the lobby , but need a taxi to find a western restaurant beside the one of the hotel, can t wlak around. The hotels breakfast is a little bit expensive but not bad.

The Metro is in front of the Hotel but still a little bit difficult to take , most of it signs are wrote in chinese. Be carefull with the taxi because 9 out of 10 take chances so ask always before at the lobby information on where you need to go and how much it could be.

Beautiful hotel with a fabulous view of the river and the financial district.

Too bad the road outside the hotel was closed due to construction for the Expo in 2010.

This was the best hotel we stayed in in China. The views of the financial district, the river, and the Bund were fabulous. Hotel staff was very helpful and the room was very nice. Just wish I had spent more time on the grounds surrounding the hotel - very nice.

Hotel Feature Tip : Check out the grounds - altho small, would be nice to spend some time here.
