Awesome food, friendly staff, Decor and rooms We were looking at staying at a heritage property without spending a fortune and found this place on agoda. We were quite excited about the place and were not disappointed at all. Right from the spectacular entrance to the well done reception our experience was unforgettable. I am Indian and grew up in India so can gauge the level of food very well. The breakfast was amazing, the chai (tea) in Umaid bhavan was the best I had in my entire trip. The dinner we had at the roof top restaurant was great, the tandoori chicken took a long time to arrive but was awesome!!
Restaurant Tip : Try the roof top restaurant for great tandoori chicken, takes a while but is awesome.

Nice location for nightviews and clean rooms. Not close to the city centre. Friendly concierge:
made us perfect support for my wife and me to go out for dinner and night cruising.

were much better than we expected. Actually, the Bund park has currently been close under costruction for Shanghai Expo. This hotel offers the nice location for the nightviews and the rooms clean enough to spend some time in it.
Nightlife Tip : Sens and Bund, which used to be on 6th floor in Bund 18, is replaced by another nice French restaurant, Mr. and Mrs. Bund.
Mr. and Mrs. Bund offers the nice meals, too.

location is near the business i needed to attend to and the hotel has a beautiful view over the river. the staff were annoyed that i arrived a day earlier than i had booked with agoda (meetings were changed) so the staff were not so friendly. they gave me a small uncomfortable room without a view. i have stayed here before but in a room facing the river. the view is the main attraction of this hotel, but the rooms are not the best i have stayed in. good continental buffet but a lot of construction noises nearby which never seems to be finished. i mainly stayed here this time because the location is good for my meetings. not much else, and it can be too pricy for what you get.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : great to take photos from the hotel room of the spectacular view over the river.
