Having recently opened in 2004, situated near city center, the hotel provides 140 artistically decorated guestrooms. The Tong Ji Garden Serviced Apartment is located north of the Jingan District, 10km from Hongqiao International Airport and 50km from Pudong International Airport. The four-star hotel is also close to the Shanghai Railway Station, and about 10-minute drive from the heart of Shanghai’s city center, where guests will find many shops, tourist attractions, restaurants, entertainment venues and business offices. Guests are within a 20-minute walking distance from the tourist attraction of Jingan Temple.

central location, walking distance(15-20 min) to shanghai center and nan-jing west road, charges CYN20.- per day for internet usage.
hotel is older, smoking is allowed in the lobby, not very clean,
besides the location(15-20 min walk to Nan-Jing west road) and close to small shops, then most everything is quite disappointed, will not stay there again.
Travel tip : it is the cheaper hotel for Jin-an district location, but I will not return there and rather pay the same amount and stay a little farther.

You get your money's worth in Tongji. This is my 2nd time to stay here. Skip the breakfast, its not worth it. There's much better food around the area. You can get fried rice in the convenience store and just microwave it. Yummy!

Good location for Traffic, close to the Jin-An Station and bus stop line 93 and 94. Only take 5~10 minutes by walking from Hotel to the bus stop.
Room's heater need to be improved.
Hot-water heater need to be improved.
I've experienced at Tong Ji Garden Service Apartment in Shanghai in January 2009. Generally speaking, this hotel is inexpensive and convenient. Except I have mentioned above, such as Room’s heater and Hot-water heater. Because the season that I stayed there is cold winter.
In conclusion, I think that I will choose this Hotel if I will visit Shanghai again.
