Located a quick five minute stroll from the heart of downtown this is one of those rare hotels that combines affordability with good quality.

First off the location leaves nothing to be desired. The decor is equally plush, especially the very comfortable premium leather couches and arm-chairs. The billiards room is also definitely a highlight worth checking out. Each room comes well stocked with Air-conditioning, DD telephones, Internet, and a well-tended mini-bar.While there is plenty to do in the surrounding neighborhood the hotel's own Guangdong Garden restaurant is well worth a visit, featuring tasty Cantonese cuisine.

Finally the hotel's well stocked business center, the sauna, dancing hall, and beauty salon all contribute to make this a good spot for business or pleasure.

Big room and not far from the Lowo Shopping Centre. Hotel staff are very helpful and friendly.

I can hear the housekeeping and the hotel engineer doing some renovations all the time (even at night time). In the morning, one lady disturb me by knocking the door and trying to give me the Chinese newspaper which I cannot read.

This hotel is okey for a budget traveller. It's not close to a good restaurant, Metro (train station) and not close to Dongmen night market. But the hotel staff are very helpful and friendly.

Nightlife Tip : Dongmen night market is cool.

Friendly staff, free internet service, good restaurant.

The furniture are a little bit old so is the carpet.

I arrived for the first time at the Lao Di Fang Hotel and despite the fact that the staff that night did not speak English fluently, they manage to have all ready for me to be on my way to my room. I found the furniture a bit old in contrast with the main lobby which looked nice, but other than that, I was pleased to have been welcome by a smiling and courteous staff. The internet is free and work immediately upon being connected. The quality/price for the hotel was appealing and I did not regret my choice, I will come back.

Restaurant Tip : There are quite few nice restaurants in and out around the hotel, as well as many shops for your every day needs. Very comveniant.

nice reception. Good housekeeping.

Hard hard bed, stale smelling rooms.

This hotels is quite near the railway station as such did not have to pay high taxi fees. The reception was very brightly lighted up and the reception staff are friendly. One particular reception staff was very helpful in giving us direction to where we wanted to go and what bus to take to get there. I have to say that it was not easy finding staff that speak English so unless you know mandarin or Cantonese my advise it get someone who can and write down all that you need especially places you want to go so that even if you can speak their language, you can still ask them for directions with the written destination. Also take the hotel card along with you so that you can ask the taxi or people the direction how to get back to the hotel. As for the hotel itself, the room i was given was very long and spacious. The aircon had to be on at all times even when we were out of the room so that you do not come back to a stale smelling room. In fact even the housekeeping would make sure the aircon is on after they clean the room. There is no coffee or tea given only Chinese tea so if you need your daily fix of coffee or tea, bring or buy your own. This hotel is not near any metro station or near major shopping areas. You have to walk about 15 mins so be prepared to walk back if you stay here.
