Lovely Hotel At Heart Of Dongmen

we had 3 lovely nights stay at sunon holiday villa. the concierge boy was very helpful and friendly. some staff could speak english but not all. beware if you traveling with australian $$$, even though the hotel offered service for money changer but they refused to take aust $$$, american $$$ is highly valued in shenzhen and it's little bit hard to find money changer there. overall, the room is big, clean and not noisy. maybe they should improve the quality of their breakfast variety. once ,i accidentally left my suitcase opened with my wallet & money inside then they cleaned my room but when i came back nothing missing. if i come back i definitely will stay at sunon hotel again. perfect for a family.
Shopping Tip:
if you are in shenzhen and if you love art, make sure you go to dafen oil painting village. very lovely!! unfortunately they don't speak much of english but you still can bargain with calculator. if you traveling with taxi, make sure you bring the address in chinese writing too. taxi is cheap there. plenty of food in dongmen area, supermarket is located at ground floor of the sun plaza. bargain can be tricky if you speak english as they tried to rip you off first, but plenty of the same things everywhere so if you don't get the price that you want, just go to other place... and they will call you again to come back..

The location of the hotel is nearby "Dong Men Bu Xing Jie" and next to "Lao Jie" MRT station. I will recommend this hotel to those who are traveling with limited budget. The breakfast is fair and price is reasonable. However, the drain is always stuck and the towels are smiley. Overall, the service is still acceptable and might return for the next visit.
Shopping Tip:
The shops there are selling goods in low price(still can bargain), but the quality is not good. If possible, please try don't try the food in Dong Men as the taste is not good and feel like "fake".

A hotel that welcomes you with a smile...

The minute you walk into Sunon Holiday Villa, everyone from concierge to front desk greets you with a welcome and a broad smile. You feel at home instantly. The staff who brings you to your rooms would ask if the room is ok with you, I was upgraded without charges to a twin bed and with window room when I expressed I wasn't too happy. That's very kind of them. The staff is very friendly and helpful. They even remembered our names and that we have stayed there before. The massage spa centre is right next door. There's lots of shopping, restaurants and wholesale outlets nearby. Best of all is the MRT station called Lao Jiae right across the road from the hotel, which connects to the other parts of Shenzhen, especially Louhu shopping centre and train and bus terminal. Rooms are clean. It's not a four star standard place but at the price you pay, this place is real value for your money.
Shopping Tip:
There's a huge wholesale outlet in a huge building called Pai Mah nearby, where u can buy almost anything for personal use....excellent shopping choices for other things in nearby viscinity.

Without doubt, the best location if you are in Shenzhen for shopping. With wifi and wired LAN, it is also suitable for the business traveler. They are serviced by a massage/health club that operates 24hrs.
Hotel Feature Tip:
The Sunon Health Club (Massage) offers cheap foot and body massages. But do remember to tip as I have been told that the people working there earn money only through tips. All drinks are on the house. This is not a sleaze strip.

Excellent location but the room is slightly small

The location is excellent as it's just a 2-min walk from the MTR station. Appreciate the delivery of morning paper, and the amicable personality of hotel staff. It could be even better if more options are available for cable channels and the wifi access could be speeded up further.

The hotel is located in the busy shopping area of DongMum. The streets are designated for walk and shop with variety of consumers products just within a walking distance. The MTR station just located outside the hotel and access to town by MTR is the most convenience way to travel if you have problem in communication with the taxi driver.
During busy hours, it is difficult to get on a taxi.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
Duangmum is a very interesting area for tourist shopping including electronic goods, appareals and latest consumers products. The MTR is just outside the hotel and easy access to other areas of the town. Many choices for street foods and restaurants to satify your desire for chinese cursines.

The room is vey clear. The ari-conditioning control works very well so that the room temperature is very comfortable. The service is vey good as well , but it would be better if the check out time can be delayed a bite.
