The hotel is located in the metro station Laojie which is just a few stops from Lo Wu station (if you can coming from Hong Kong). When you step out from metro station (exit D) you will see the hotel right in front of you. Unfortunately I took a wrong exit so I called the hotel front desk to ask for directions. The hotel staff was nice. I arrived there around 6pm and seemed that many rooms were full. No room available on non-smoking floor. So the staff upgraded me to executive floor (the room has no window, which was fine for me). I have to say the exterior of the hotel looks old but inside the room is quite spacious with good lighting. No bath tub only shower. Very good valuable for what I paid, highly recommended.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
If you go there by taking metro, arrive at Laojie and take exit D. The Laojie station is super chaotic and therefore it is better to know your way otherwise you will get lost!

Lovely Hotel with big clean rooms
Spacious rooms, Clean, Friendly staff, Good location just above LaoJie subway station
9
The location is a proper commercial area with shops and restaurants nearby. While that is convenient, at night it can be a bit noisy. The LaoJie subway station is absolutely near and from the previous reviews we understood to take the exit B and turn right. However we discovered that exit D is right in front of the hotel! So for future travellers please note exit D. Hotel staff were friendly and eager to help however we had problems communicating in english. Not all could speak in english well or even understand how to give directions to Splendid China.
Hotel Feature Tip:
Please take exit D from LaoJie station in Lubao line to reach Day's Inn

selected the hotel based on the positive review in trip advisor.
the location is definitely the selling point though i am not very impressed with the hotel. it's old and the deco definitely shows that. i've booked the deluxe. while the room is spacious,i find it dated and a tad dim. the lobby is also small and dark. nonetheless, served the purpose of a transit hotel for shopping.

Hotel with good location at Dongmen area
6.7
big suite for a fraction of the price. location next to mtr and in dongmen shopping area. many eateries around. walkway from lift to room is dimly lit. bathroom minibar as they call it has 3 packets of chargeable condoms which we had to hide them away as we had kids around. aircon in room not cold. bell boy steven was good in suggesting us places to go. he speaks relatively good english, he says he learnt it from school and from hotel guests! dim sum on the 2nd floor restaurant is good. check out was like being frisked as they checked everything to ensure that nothing was taken, even if it was for souvenirs. we had to return a laundry bag as my wife used it to store some stained clothings. they even asked to return the 2 key cards!
Restaurant Tip:
There's a good eatery behind the hotel (Li Wan) which opens late until 2am. Their roasted goose is a must try, sold out early so be there early.

Great location near subway includes internet svc
Nice size room, VG daily cleaning svc, western restaurant in hotel, close to mall and shopping, across from subway
7
i had a very comfortable stay at days inn. all the pros above are excellent selling points. the window opened in my room so i was able to get fresh air. bathroom and room cleaning was completed daily and very well. there was some communication problems at the front desk as i didn't speak mandarin, but i got by. tv included hbo which was one of about 2 or 3 english speaking channels.
Restaurant Tip:
u can dine at days inn which has a western rest. and a chinese rest. u r one stop away from the grand theatre stop by subway (cost 2 yuan) which is a 2 min walk from the kkk mall which is a high end mall and has a terrific area for dining. there are 2 nice rests in the mall. i'm sure there are other places to dine near the hotel, but i didn't find any. if u do, please note it in ur review.

Great Location, Average Service
Good & convenient location, questionable hotel security
6.3
1. Good & convenient location. Next to subway stn (Laojie Stn). Very near big busy shopping area (Dongmen) that sells upper end goods, wholesale goods n lower end goods.
2. Hotel security is lax tho I do note they try to put up a "good front". I checked into my room late at night w/o a card key given to me. The receptn asked me to collect my card key the following day which i did. To my surprise, when I asked the morning receptionist (diff fr the previous night) for the card key, she just gave it to me w/o verification of id nor any question asked. After issuing the card key, I told her that what she did was incorrect n unsafe. This was overheard by her "higher ranking" colleague who sprung to her defence with plenty of nonsensical reasons n excuses to justify her wrongful act. To this, I ticked him off n put him in his rightful place - just shut-up, know u've made a mistake n learn fr it. No need to talk so much.
3. Apart from this incident, the stay was generally satisfactory. There're are a dew other hotels in the vicinity within 3 minute walk fr subway stn wich offer lower rates n look just as good, if not, better.
Travel tip:
1. Shopping in Shenzhen is enjoyable unless u hate crowds. The place is vibrant n things can be bought at good price. U'll be really really spoilt for choice fr almost anything - clothes, fashion accessories, personal grooming, electronics, night clubs etc...
2. Food outlets r plenty - plse consume only hot cooked food unless u've got iron stomach. I consider myself to hv a tuff stomach but still succumbed to a 3-day bout of diarrhoea n stomach upset :( That episode was a kill-joy. Thanks to my folks, i still managed to enjoy those moments/days despite the pain.
3. The much talk abt Happy Valley Theme Park is fun if u seek the rides at empirical level. The rides can be really thrilling and I think they're better than HK Disneyland or other Disneylands which I've been b4 however, it does not have the class, finesse and magic that one experiences in Disneyland. Happy Valley is functionally fun for the fantastic rides, especially during summer (at winter, may of the water rides are closed - it's brrr.. cold!

Superb location with large hotel room
Very good location (within 1 minute from train exit and walking distance to shopping malls)
9.7
Very pleased with the location - directly from train exit. Was v cold when we reached and a great relief to locate the hotel without hassle.
Greeted by freindly hotel staff.
Room is very spacious..very comfortable for family of 2 adults and 2 kids. King-sized bed with a long sofa..my girl (8 yrs old) slept on it for the 4 nights we stayed there.
Room is clean..great!
Just walk out of hotel to find great shopping and food! Its location is not in the middle of all shopping malls so not noisy at all..but at an end of street..perfect for peace and shopping!
TV channels is fantantic..HBO, Star movies, etc
Shopping Tip:
Every sunday, there are flea stalls selling great stuff like bags, earpieces on the streets..very cheap prices.
