Located in downtown Suzhou, the Lexiang Hotel is in an ideal spot for exploring the Old City’s historical sites. Within walking distance of the hotel are some of Suzhou’s most popular attractions – the Humble Administrator’s Garden, the Northern Temple Pagoda and Shizin, the Lion Grove Garden. While there is a Chinese restaurant in the hotel, the pedestrian stretch of Guanqian Street is right outside the hotel, offering almost a kilometer of culture, food and shopping. Opened in 1939, this hotel has its own place in Chinese history, and even though it’s not quite as old as some of the spots nearby it does have an authentically Chinese feel about it. Redecorated in 2000, its interiors are far from antiquated and rooms are bright and modern, with cable TV and high-speed internet.
