Centrally located on Shi Lu shopping street, this hotel offers a high level of modernity and comfort within walking distance of the Old Town. This large, modern property is the perfect base for wandering Suzhou’s ancient streets, with Shantang Old Street and the moat about a 15-minute journey away on foot. Given the abundance of stalls, shops and photo opportunities along the way this walk will probably take longer, but it is is a safe place to be wandering about even after dark – which is probably when the area is most beautiful. The first floor includes all the bars and cafes while the restaurants are on the second floor, and the conference and banquet facilities are another floor up. The hotel is also handy to Suzhou train station and supermarkets – ideal for grabbing some snacks before hopping on the train to Shanghai.
