Rooms and bathrooms are very trendy and contemporary with modern facilities. The train station is a five minute drive away and the airport is only a 20 minute drive away. The hotel’s central location makes it close to the Xiamen International Convention and Exhibition Center, the Botanical Gardens and the boat ferry to Gulangyu Island. The Gem Hotel in Xiamen has exceptionally friendly and competent staff who greet the traveler under its' distinctive ‘Thundering Horses’ frieze in the reception.

Good location.

Dining area was messy at breakfast. Dishes not cleared fast enough and we had to find our own table to share.

Overall hotel was a good location. Facilities such as money exchange is however, not available at the hotel. Rooms was alright although bathroom blinds were a tad dirty. Breakfast was a mess as there were a lot of guests at breakfast and we basically had to stand at the tables to get a table to share and dishes and table took a while to be cleaned.

Travel tip : Massage parlor is available at the hotel next door.
