good location but not a 5-star hotel

we booked 2 rooms in the hotel. At the time of booking, I requested for 1 king size bedroom and another with twin beds, both non-smoking room. Upon arrival, the receptionist said there was no more twin-bed room left. After showing my order receipt, they agreed to change the room to a twin bed room. However, the so-called non-smoking rooms were filled with STRONG SMELL OF SMOKE. After some complaints, the manager finally agreed to upgrade our rooms to Family Suite + Executive Room for free. The whole process took us almost 1 hour.
The rooms we stayed are at Level 23. Very nice rooms, no smell. Family suite has good view, very spacious.
Afterall, the hotel is more like a 3-4 star hotel rather than 5 star based on their service and renovation. The hotel lobby is small and the overall impression of the premises is like an old building refurbished into a hotel. The furniture and wall in the rooms are actually quite new but overall impression of the decoration looks quite old. The lifts are definitely brought forward from the old building- they look like those in the 80s.
The good thing about the hotel is its location and they provide rooms with low price. My rating is for their Family suite but not the Deluxe room.

Our stay was very pleasant and comfortable. The staff were commendable in making their guests feel welcome and that they are their number 1 priority. Small things like giving their cell phone numbers that we can call in case we were lost, giving us complimentary tickets for the hop on-hop off tourist bus, the front desk supervisor carrying our luggage and hailing a taxi when we were running late for our flight check in were truly appreciated.

Good location but don't like the bathroom

Good location -- walking distance to the Zhongshan Road shopping street as well as the ferry terminal to Gulangyu. Didn't like that the bathroom has transparent doors and windows.. Can only close by drawing the curtain.

免费升级为deluxe sea view，加床，风景不错，房间宽敞，卫浴用的是西班牙roca很高端。客厅带卫生间，方便会客，很好。卧室和洗浴是敞开的，抽湿应该不错，所以没有异味。床品很干净，床特别舒服，以致我们睡过头错过了早餐，可惜。唯一不足是电视频道太少，尤其没有海外的频道，不够国际化。

这次一共订了7个房间，后来有朋友要一起去一起加订的，酒店的服务不错，早餐也不错，孩子吃得很开心。中午午餐是套餐单点的，就是去的时候天气不错，酒店的空调是统一控制的中央空调，刚好那两天很热，想开空调只有暖气，无冷气无法开，只能开着窗户，睡觉，而且不盖被子。太热了。要是空调能够，冷暖自己调节就更好了。
