Great location, the front desk staff was helpful and spoke English well. Our room was small, but quiet. The restaurant was good, and the breakfast and lunch buffets are good value with good selection of food. 24 hour room service. Our room was smaller and the bathtub drain didn't work very well. The Internet in the Business Center was a little slow. I would recommend this hotel. It was in a nice location, although getting a taxi from our hotel was a bit of a challenge. Our room was small, but it was clean. The staff was friendly and helpful. It has a nice pool and workout area.
Hotel Feature Tip : At the end of the day, relax in the live piano bar next to the lobby.
It was very difficult to hail a taxi from our hotel, so it's a good idea to walk or go down the street to catch a taxi.

Location was very good. Rooms clean, staff very courteous. Overall good experience. Would be nice to have better views (windows were small), but was not critically important. Wine selection extremely limited, but this was true everywhere we went. The location of the Aurum Hotel was an important factor for us. We wanted to be within the city walls and within easy walking of the main sights. The staff were very pleasant and our room was clean and comfortable. We had a small suite (which was a bit chopped up)that was well kept and comfortable. Even though we arrived late in the evening, the business room staff secured a tour for us for the next day!
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Xi'an has lots more to offer than the terracotta soldiers. Try to spend more than 1.5 days there. We want to go back! The Museum of Stone Tablets (a few blocks from the hotel) is a wonderful refuge from the hubbub of the city. Take care crossing the streets!

- Well appointed rooms. The standard room had a sitting area, bedroom, a dressing room, and a bathroom.
-Excellent price.
- Good location - shops and markets nearby. - Could do with more English speaking taxi drivers. The driver we hired from the hotel was very efficient but did not speak English. So we got the hotel manager to write down the places we wanted to visit in Mandarin characters and pointed it out to him. I thought that the hotel rooms were clean and we got more than we expected for the price we paid. I would definitely recommend the hotel to others. The staff were pleasant and unobtrusive, and the chef accommodated the requests of my traveling companions (who were vegetarians and allergic to MSG).
