The hotel's location was just right across the bell tower - w/c is a tourist area. Beside the tower were lots of restaurants and souvenir shops. The rooms were generally clean . They were spacious. Beds were a little stiff, but generally OK. Breakfast at hotel was more of Chinese influence . From the airport, you can take the airport shuttle bus for 27 Yuan. The bus stop is just 2 minutes walk away from the hotel.
Excellent location, nice rooms.
No body helped me with my luggage upon check in.
- Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Just around the corner of the bell tower is a street called " Hway Min Chie " Here you find lots of Muslim influenced shops and restaurants. You also find here lots of vendors selling different things.

Pros:Amazing location....right in the middle of everything. You can walk to all major sights, food, and shopping.
Cons: Smoky.... as with most hotels in China even the non-smoking room was a little smoky smelling. Always bring air freshener with you while traveling in China.
All in all, I would stay in the hotel again as it was a great price and location.

Fantastic location. Central and easy walking to the Bell and Drum Towers, the Mosque and Bazaar and lots of interesting little markets. Loved the shopping. Didn't like the beggars that were often outside this hotel. One night we were watching them as we dined in our room (which fab views over to the Bell tower) and we were enjoying the night views and lights but could help noticing the way the beggars targetted Westeners outside the hotel and they made an absolute fortune. I think the security should move them along. Its hard for Westerners to walk past a very old lady or a mother with babe in arms and these were the two begging regularly outside this hotel. We watched as they counted their 'earnings' and as co-workers came to collect. It was quite depresing to see how foolish people can be and what mugs we westerners are taken for. Our advise is to get the security to clear them off!
Location, friedly staff, and nice room.
No shuttle service to airport or facilities for late checkouts. Beggars targetting westerners outside the hotel.
- Travel tip : Security to clear beggars from outside this hotel. Shuttle arrangement to and from airport.

Good choice. With Agoda price deals this 4 star hotel in central Xi'an is good value for money. It is walking distance to key historic sites and Muslim quarters and for those who like McDonalds and Starbucks there are a few of each at walking distance.
- Restaurant Tip : Opposite the hotel are McDonalds and Starbucks, nice if you have people in your company who don't like to eat Chinese food all the time
Enjoyable stay

If you want to feel the old time then this hotel is excellent. Take whatever star it used to be - it would be worth it in the past. It is still comfortable , you sleep good and if you have a balcony in front you can look to the belltower while drinking a beer at the balcony. It feels so original. But if you are used to a 4-5 star new hotel, this hotel is too old for you. Just hop out of the hotel and you can walk to the drum and beltower (buy a chaired ticket saves money). You can walk to nice or cheap hotels and karaoke bars and disco bars. Drinking a beer in a local restaurant cost nothing, drinking one in a real bar cost a fortune (only rich people go out I think). For a few dollar you can take a taxi in the front of the hotel to almost every site in town. So let ancient times in this hotel charm you.
location, balcony with view on beltower
older room/hotel
- Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : take a big aircon public bus from the central train station to the terracotta army. But first visit the beltower and drumtower just in front of you.
