The Xian Garden Hotel is located near the Big Wild Pagoda. A new garden opened on July 1, 2008 that is adjacent to the hotel, as well as a large square/plaza around the pagoda within short walking distance. Both are frequented and well used by locals and offer a glimpse of life in this part of China. If you like a bit of tranquility in a busy city, you'll like this location. The hotel has a superb classical Chinese garden in the centre and this is a nice change from high rise concrete cookie cutter type hotels. Again, travellers seeking tranquil space after a hectic touring day would enjoy this. Rooms are clean and well appointed. Food at the hotel, on the other hand, is wanting, so go out and seek more tasty food which is availabe in many parts of Xian. Overall, a hotel worth staying at.
Location, classical garden, service
Food at hotel's Chinese restaurant
- Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Visit the garden and square close by and watch people. Various activities from morning til night.

The hotel overall is nice, with a pretty garden and is quiet compared to the traffic in town. Even though we were trying to determine different transport options to see the sites, the hotel kept on trying to push us towards going through them to arrange taxi service. I think they get commision for this (hotel staff asked us in one night 5 times). I eventually arranged for a taxi service myself that was cheaper than the hotel option since i can speak Chinese. Other than that, the staff was decent.
Decent rooms,
Hotel staff not really that helpful unless it was to help arrange transport to sites. Very pushy and did not get a large bed when we arrived as originally arranged.

While traveling I wanted to see the Terracotta Soldiers and travelled to Xi-am where i stayed at The Garden Hotel.
It is a very large hotel, which looks fantastic.
The rooms are very comfortable.
The breakfast was a buffet and this I found great because I could eat a large amount in case I not find food I enjoy.
The staff there are very helpful and most speak English. Very happy with this hotel
Many rooms, great price, facilities, and western style in general.
Cost of washing clothes.
Wireless internet access was only free in the lobby, not the rooms.
- Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : When you arrange to go on a tour they will pick you up from this hotel.
So this can be a starting point for a sight seeing tour.
Nice stay!

Nice hotel, very chic, helpful staff, next to a lively area near the Big Wild Goose pagoda. A little far from town, but a cool stay for a family weekend.
None
- Hotel Feature Tip : A Tai Qi Chuan master was giving lessons in the morning in front of the lake.

The staff was very helpful in arranging a car to take us to the Terracotta Warriors.
- Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Be sure to go to the Muslims Quarters. Go in the late afternoon to first do some shopping, check out the Great Mosque and then for dinner enjoy some delicious local food.
A lovely hotel.

Easy walking distance from Big Goose Pagoda - well worth a visit. Nice park near the Pagoda has a bandstand in which a group of elderly Chinese meet each morning for singing - welcome visitors.
- Travel tip : Take a Taxi to the Great Mosque area and walk back to the city centre. Even a Starbucks!
