Hotel is fairly cheap to stay in.
Staff do not speak very good English.
The hotel was fairly cheap to stay in. For the price the facilities were pretty good including free Internet access. The location was reasonably close to the South Gate. Not that close to town which is OK because I like walking. The staff did not speak very good English. I had trouble making simple requests. Only one staff member could communicate at an acceptable level.

cleanliness, staff was not very helpful, very small and basic rooms.
If you need a cheap place to lay your head for a few hours this place will suffice. You will not be impressed but it won't stretch your travel budget either. The location is good and you can walk around to the cities in the city. It reminded me more of a guesthouse than a hotel....but for the price, I'd say it was adequate.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Walk around the city at night, everything is very pretty when lite up.

location, size of room, helpful
It had a great location and the staff was very helpful. You could walk from the hotel to pretty much everywhere. We were able to book tickets at the front desk. The bus stop was directly in front of the hotel and you could catch a bus to pretty much anywhere. The hotel was easy to find and I would definitely recommend it to anyone. I would stay there again if I ever return to Xi An.

Located near south gate. Stately and modern.
Staff could use a little more fluency in English for Intern'l travelers since they find it hard to understand Putonghua except with the inflections of more indigenus speakers.
Needed a hotel on short notice for a two day excursion to this historic city and found it to be a excptional value at $19 USD for a night. Close to the south gate and the more modern side of town it proved to be easy walk to from dinner and the Tang Dynsty theater after the show that I took in.
