Great location and great spacious double rooms
A lot of attractions are of walking distance. Easily consolidates day touring.

jiahe business hotel is in a side street immediately beside the main avenue. it is behind a huge orientaly styled department store. which makes it easy to locate after the first time. it is also very near a primary attraction which you can use as a landmark for when returning from a walking trip or telling the taxi driver.
the hotel itself is pretty decent with a spacious double bedroom making it easy to dump everything on the floor upon arrival!
all the basic services are there including seating type toilets and hot water for showers.
the master switch console is a bit confusing at first but you will get it within 2 minutes of tinkering and you can control the tv, network, lights, etc.
internet is hassle free as well. there's no wifi but i preferred the cabled connection anyway. of course you still have the normal limitations of chinese internet access.
in short, the place is great, the location is spot-on, the staff is helpful and i would book in with them again. seriously.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
Make sure your camera is fully charged. From the hotel you can immediately go to the Muslim Quarter markets, Drum and Bell towers, the Calligraphy markets.
AND make sure you have time to get a leg massage on your last day!

Good Value Hotel

After we had booked the hotel (based on its 4 star rating), I read the reviews and thought I had made a mistake. It sounded a bit sketchy but after staying there, I can say it's a solid 3 star hotel and I would stay here again. The front desk was helpful, the room was spacious and clean, the carpets needed a cleaning, the bathroom was well appointed and except for the lack of really hot water, no complaints. The hallway would be well-served if it had better lighting. When we couldn't figure out the TV, maintenance was very quick to show up after a call to the front desk.

This hotel has 2 blocks. Block A (relatively new with big rooms) and Block B (old one with very small and ugly rooms). Make sure you have a reservation in Block A.
PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU HAVE THE HOTEL NAME AND ADDRESS IN CHINESE! Otherwise, there is no chance to explain to the taxi driver which hotel do you need.
