Share facilities with Sofitel, escape from city
Rooms are not especially large
My wife and I were staying at a noisy hostel and decided we wanted a quieter place. We booked at the Mercure for a little bit more and it was well worth it. A nice, quiet location in Xian allows you to escape some of the difficulties of China. Staff were very friendly. Only confusing thing is that there is a Grand Mercure and Mercure, I think both are very similar but maybe Mercure is a bit newer. We would definitely stay there again if we went back to Xian.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : hiking hua shan is crowded but a great experience.

Only a minor point but it would benefit from its own bar without the need to go to the sofitel
Great hotel (although bit confusing to find!) good location and genuine high standard. It is set in a nice location with other western type hotels so the service is of a high standard.
Very clean and good facilities were presented in the room (robe, water, good towels etc)
Ate in the A la Carte restaurant and was served a very nice dish.
Would stay there again if i was visiting this location

Very close to tourist attractions
Bed was a little bit hard but other than that, excellent.
Very impressed with this hotel. The location was great and central to everything, we could walk to the Forbidden City, etc. Breakfast was aplenty and the staff were very helpful, especially to my elderly mother-in-law. They made her feel really special. Rooms very clean. Would certainly stay there again if we were in Beijing.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : All the tourist attractions were within walking distance. We were very impressed with Beijing as it was a very clean city.
