great tour guide booked from this hotel. the guide named lucky (05/2012) was very helpful.. if possible pay them a little bit more so they can avoid all the tourist souvenir stops. painful and you will get ripped off.
very good location. honest staff returned a bag of clothes we left in the room. not the most english friendly. room was good.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
go early before 5pm to see the drum towers, not much to see even more in the bell tower unless there is a performance. lots of things to see in xian, very cultural.

the hotel locates in the city centre close to drum tower, bell tower and only 5 minutes walk from the muslim street where you can get delicious food. the hotel's staffs were helpful, good english and we were happy staying there. the weak point was only difficulties to get a taxi because the distance is not so far from train station to the hotel. however, there are regular bus no. 611 or 210 that it costs only 0.5 rmb. it is strongly recommended for muslim because many good and cheap halal restaurant near the hotel. enjoy your stay in the super 8 hotel in xian!

Older hotel with nice service

We arrived late at night and had two rooms. The staff was helpful: someone was doing some drilling in the alley outside and they stopped after I asked the front desk to intervene.
The location is near a bus stop but not within the really bad traffic around the train station. We were able to reach the hotel via the airport bus and then walked about two blocks to reach it. Unfortunately, the hotel was tucked inside an alley and not easily visible after we got off the bus.
The rooms were a bit older and some of the clientele were "adult" in their habits and behavior. We probably would not take our children there again for vacation. The cleanliness was not super, but it was acceptable. Toothbrushes were provided, but, inexplicably, the toothpaste tubes did not include caps, so I had to struggle with the edge of a comb to open the toothpaste.
Breakfast was not free, but it was slightly below average Chinese fare (except for the bean/rice porridge which was excellent). The dining staff was very friendly.
Travel tip:
Best way to get here from the airport--take the bus. It is also reachable by city bus from the train station without needing to transfer.

Very old hotel. Not great. Receptionist was struggling with English but can still understand. It is located in a very quiet street. Quite basic hotel.

nice small hotel in a great location for sight seeing, nice size room very clean. i only stayed one night but would use this hotel again. really enjoyed my stay there. close to all the attractions.

Good location to get to the terracotta army museum and other attractions.

This hotel was good value - especially compared to our stay in Beijing. The rooms were a good size and clean. Decent size bathroom. The 'decor' was a little tired, but still tidy. We didn't bother with breakfast (not included in price), but we don't enjoy Chinese breakfast anyway. I would stay here again!
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
Get a guide to take you to the warriors - they are full of infromation, cheap and saves lots of hassles with public transport!
