Poor condition building

It reside in a old and poorly maintain building. There is a "stinky tofu" store at ground floor entrance which annoyed me (personally I am not a fan of "stinky tofu"). The room is small and the sound prove is poor as you can clearly heard the conversation or door open from next door.

Great location but very small rooms
1 min walk to Wong Kok MTR station, 5 min walk to A21 bus stop, ladies street is just opposite the juctions, hawkers food everywhere

It really challenging and takes sometimes to find the Ah Shan hostel for first timer eventhough we have the map and direction provided by them. No doubt the location of the hostel is great, 1 min walk to Wong Kok MTR station, 5 min walk to A21 bus stop, ladies street is just opposite the junctions, hawker food, 7-eleven are scatter around the corners. The room is way too small, you can switch on the TV with your toes from your lying body on the bed(no need to move), you can just open the fridge door or open the toilet door from the lying bed anytime. The space of the bathroom is just enough for 1 person, don't think about open your both arm widely. The room is just good for sleeping or changing. Children were complaining no space for moving around/reading /playing cards/board games etc...

Asked for new building or new units.

nearby mong kok mtr station d1 exit, easy access to ladies market, shopping district and restaurants.

this hostel is nearby very mong kok mtr station d1 exit. however, there are no sign board. it took us around 30 mins to look for the entrance of sincere building because it has no signboard of "sincere house".if you have limited budget and just sleep, wont stay long in the hotel room then it's okay to choose this one. however i found it very small. the good thing on this place is that it's very near the ladies market, shopping district and restaurants.

Good location, dozen of 24 hours restaurant one the same street.

Stay here for a week, choose this hotel as it is one of the cheapest and its location.
7 eleven, Mcdonald, MTR station etc just around the corner.
The hotel has 2 building, we are staying the newer one, thus the room condition still acceptable clean.
One major cons is the aged water pipe "knocking" noise is running nonstop.

If you are planning to stay in the room instead of going around sightseeing then this hostel is not for you. The tiniest room I've ever seen, basically just for sleeping.Not recommended if you traveled with young childrens(age 2-4years). The building is old (exterior, corridor and elevator)and the unit we stayed were shared with a Local Acupuncture clinic. Hence, there is no electronic lock. That unit uses the old fashion key for the grilled gate/entrance.
Trying to reach ppl in the room was troublesome. There was phone in the room but it can't make inter-room calls. If you have visitor, they have to stand outside the grill and shout for attention. There is not doorbell or the sort. Since it is grilled gate, people can see all the room doors standing outside gate. It does not feel safe even though they were given key to the gate to lock it. Tenants from other rooms might not lock it properly.
The sink and the shower are rusty and stained. Temperatures of the shower has to wacth out and adjusted along with the course as it goes too hot or too cold suddenly. The drinking water supply from the common areas was insuffient, and always have to request from the reception desk. They replenished it very late in the morning. It was not a pleasant experience overall.

Its exactly what you expect for this price. Small but cozy rooms. You can hear your neighbors clearly. Water pipes always loud. Was good overall for us because we weren't staying in our rooms other than to sleep. Typical Chinese style room. Small room, small bed, hard as rock bed, small doorways. Was hard to find because the address provided is a mall. You need to go into the mall and takean elevator to the 14th floor to check in.
Nightlife Tip:
Right in the middle of everything. Plus close to the subway station.

The place is a bit tricky to find .The hotel very closed to many great attraction and is very strategic in location where we can just walk 5-10 minutes to Ladies street and some shopping mall.The MTR is near which only 5 minutes away .Is a great place for night life.
