The hotel is nice enough, but you should be warned that the hotel sits nearly at the top of the mountain on hong kong island. Getting a taxi from the hotel is difficult, there are a few buses that go by, but with inconvenient routes. You can walk about 5 minutes over to the mid levels escalator to go up and down to the main streets on level ground. If you're on a budget and cant' take a taxi every time, this hotel will end up making you exercise a lot!

long distance to arrive, but not bad
The room was clean. And it is near some wonderful places.

taking nealy one and half hours to reach the hotel after we got off the nearest mrt station. don't beleve it will take you only 20 minutes to go as the hotel told you and the map! my friend and i walked along the streets, carrying a heavy bag with us. at first, it was exciting because we saw lan kuai fong and the amazing buidlings. but soon, we found it terrible to climb the steap stairs and the hotel is on the another side of the street. we had to take the taxi to go there finally.
when we asked the hotel staff whether there was any bus to go to hotel. they told me only taxi that could arrive there because the shuttle bus is for every hour.

We like this hotel a lot and stay there regularly when in Hong Kong. The location is very convenient just 5 minutes walk from the escalators - great both for going out at night and having breakfast. Staff is friendly, rooms are small but clean and friendly. If you can, book ocean view for a great view!

We stayed at the Bishop Lei in August 2010. We found the hotel to be very good overall. The location is towards the residential areas, but you can walk to the central district in 15 mins using the mid-level escalators. Or taxis are cheap £2, or they offer a free shuttle to the airport station.
Hotel was clean an service good. We had room service one breakfast and food was very good.
Would recommend if you are keen on the location.

The Bishop Lei is a great hotel. Is is in a great location - a quick 5 minute walk to the escaltors and mid levels, a walk to LKF and should you feel like it a 15 minute walk to central. Taxis easy to come by as they go past the hotel and buses stop right outside.
The beds are comfortable, the bathrooms clean and modern, service good. What ALL customers need to remember that, unless you are heading to a 5 star place rooms in Hong Kong are small. Land expensive, therefore maximise room number. The rooms at the BL are very small - you can walk around the bed, and there is hanging space but not much more. If you have children it would be an issue.
But, if you are in HK for sightseeing, eating and drinking and shopping then this is a great location to be in and at US$65 a complete bargain. The fact you can then go and crash by the very pleasent pool (no beer served oddly) at the end of the day is also a bonus. Probably my new choice in HK.

This is just the best place to stay in HK if you are a solo traveller! The rooms are small, but have been renovated and look clean and moderrn. Bathroom is fine. Everything works. Aircon very good. Flat screen TV good. Breakfast buffet at HK$96 not bad at all - not exactly the Mandarin Grill, but all the basics, I enjoyed my breakfast there, and I've stayed in all the top hotels in Asia. Staff very friendly & efficient. Short walk to the mid-levels escalator, in 10 minutes you are in the heart of Soho's restaurants. OK, if you are on business and the company will foot the bill, stay at the Four Seasons or the Mandarin. If you are paying yourself, stay here.
