Great little hotel with big hotel service

Although our stay wasn't perfect, the problems were sorted out quickly and quietly to our entire satisfaction. The location is at the 'far end' of Hollywood Road, but near to the famous Man Mo Temple, Lascar Row shops, art galleries, etc. It has good access to MTR and taxis, and interesting restaurants and bars.
We arrived late night, and were unfortunately given a smoking room on a high floor (we do not smoke) - the hotel was full. The next day we were changed to a non-smoking and recently renovated room - a much better proposition - and rating below is on that basis. The older rooms are very tired.
The 'Garden View' must be tongue-in-cheek as although there is a public garden next door, you have to peer downwards to see it... The rooms are small, but as we were out most of the day and evening, that was not much of a hardship. There is no restaurant.
Staff were always polite and professional, referring to me by name - and helpful with obtaining taxis and other requests both in person and by phone.
Restaurant Tip:
Just across the road is a great restaurant/bar "208" with lethal cocktails and classy pizzas.

I would recommend Butterfly on Hollywood Hotel. It is a decent boutique hotel with simple necessities provided. It could do with a little bit of touch-up paintwork. The staff were very approachable. Checking in and out of the Hotel was a breeze. Much to see around the neighborhood. Try the 'osmanthus pudding' in a little bakery on Possession Road, across the Hotel.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
Venture around the neighborhood and see coffin shops, antique shops and the famous 東華醫院.

Good location for my needs

The hotel was in a good location, both for my work and pretty close to nightlife and restaurants - easily walkable. Although the amenities at the hotel were minimal and the rooms a bit small, I would gladly stay there again. The elevators were slow (and there are only 2), but service was friendly and accommodating.
Restaurant Tip:
208 across the street was a decent Italian restaurant.

This is one of the worst hotel that I have ever stayed in Hong Kong. First of all, there is a bad smell ditch inside my bathroom. The room is quite dirty, the decoration is pretty much worn out and the hotel is undergoing renovation plus the sound proofing quality of the wall was bad.
The lobby look nice but the rooms are bad. I think they will renovate the entire hotel pretty soon, or else it will not be able to last long. The service of the front desk was not good at all.
Shopping Tip:
Hollywood road is one of the best place that I love to hang out. There are lots of antique stores.
There is a good restaurant nearby that serves excellent breakfast.

booked with Wanchai V hotel, received booking confirmation, but received email next day to say that the hotel is fully booked, and ask me to another hotel, but the one they offer I do not like, so I re book butterfly on Hollywood Boutique Hotel, and agoda give me 10% discount, but still, I am not happy about it.
