Very Small but clean room and bathroom.

At the beginning the indian hotel owner tried to give us a very small 5 bed room at different floor, instead of our booking for 4 bed and 1 bed rooms. We refused and then he gave us 4 bedroom at Canadian hostel and one bedroom at same building different block and floor. Since we came to room only for sleep it was manageable.
The rooms and bathrooms were very small. difficult even to sit inside the bathroom. When four of us were inside the room no one could even move. At night the queue for the elevator was quite long. The people in this transport the trash in same elevator which several hotels use for guests.
Very close to MRT station and easy access to all important locations.

Awful Hostel and Location!

It was very disappointing. The price we paid for the room is not commensurate to what we got. The Canadian Hostel is on the 7th floor and only has 7 rooms. Going to the 7th floor from the Chungking Mansions ground floor is scary. There are people from all walks of life. The place stinks! Never again at chunking Mansion let alone at this Canadian Hostel! Better, remove it from your list of hostels.

the location is convenient and accessible to shopping centers, MTR Stations, Subway and other public transpo. walking distance to avenue of the stars, hongkong museums, victoria harbor, china hongkong ferry terminal and other business stablishments

Clean Room
Clean, Newly Renovated, Affordable

From the airport, we took an A21 bus and it was easy to go to Chun King Mansion. When we entered the building, my first impression is that it was a little bit scary. We had to go to the far end for the elevator going to tho 7th floor. When we arrived at the Candian Hostel, we were surprised that we were then transferred to the fifth level. The room is small considering that we were three, but it was clean and it seems to be newly renovated. However, we were disappointed that we didn't have a refrigerator as mentioned when I booked online. We had to go to the seventh floor to get hot water and for the coffee as well. The person though was accommodating and kind. The beds are comfy. I didn't mind the small room since we usually were out during our stay in Hong Kong. I can still re-consider in staying in this hostel again since it's clean and affordable. I just hope that next time they will really provide as to what they advertise online.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
The building is near the Victoria Harbor. It is a great place to relax and just appreciate the Hong Kong sky line. You can even watch the Symphony of Lights by 8:00 PM, and it is for public viewing.

i booked double room and it was not available when arrived at block e, fl.7. i was move to other hostel at block d,fl 14 which is the same owner, said it is new. room was smaller than what i have booked, with noises of constructions and staffs outside talking non stop. wifi was not work at all and they couldn't fix. i called the owner, john, to move me to other room or bigger. finally in 2 hours with patient, they got me the double beds room which is at block e, fl.9 , i paid a little more and i got a better reasonable room with windows for my friend and i. wifi worked well, computer use in room, bathroom clean and a bit smelly of bed sheets and blankets. owner was friendly and helpful, the maid was helpful. good location and easy access to mtr.
Hotel Feature Tip:
Be patient to line up and wait for the elevators as guests and those employees use the same ones at all 24-7 hrs. This Chungking Mansion is the place where most all South Asian Ethnic group live and work.
