Old smell/aura again upon entering room Toilet flush had issues

I was here a few weeks ago. I booked Caritas for both my stays in Hong Kong before arriving. The rate I was quoted for my second was quite a bit cheaper, so I improved on the value for money category. This time, I was in a room with toilet flush issues. Often, it would take 5+ flushes. One time, I think I counted close to 20 times :( From my previous stay/review: Well, I travelled with a faily large group. There was sufficient room for myself, my mom, my sister, and my baby niece. We had a standard room with 2 twin beds and added a third bed. The hotel is conveniently located close to the MTR. Mong Kok is walkable, about 10-15 minutes by foot, and I did this multiple times. There's plenty of food nearby.

close to everything breakfast included wonderful accommodating staff

hard to find old building

This is a decent lodge. Don’t expect it to be great.. The room has everything you need, but the furnitures were not nice. No amenities at all. Restaurant looked like a cafeteria. The location is good for sightseeing. Most of the landmarks are close by. The dining options are not great at the lodge. But, there are lots of good restaurants nearby. I had to leave for a few days and the staff was kind enough to take care of our luggage for a few days. Overall, a good place to stay.

near to MTR station, hotel cleanliness, hotel security, friendly hotel staff

building looks old - typical HK buildings. it is decent though.

Three of us stayed in a double room with an extra bed, thus left not too much space around, but can still fit 3 medium size luggages. Overall, the room was clean, the airconditioning was ok, big closet, the toilet was painted white and looks clean, toiletries were given, the bed was just nice though the pillows are a bit too soft for us. They provided drinking water and a safe in the room. The hotel breakfast suprised us (we expected simply bread/tea/coffee), though not a superb fare, but it is actually quite good, with fresh fruits, breads, porridge, noodles, eggs, dimsum, ham, vege, coffee/tea/fruit juices. they changed the breakfast menu too. the staff is quite polite and helpful with directions/enquiries. The hotel had hand sanitizers and sterilized carpet prepared for the guests for swine flu prevention. the hotel location is good, just about 50m walk or 3min to the YauMaTei station, we find it very convenient and safe.

The location of the hotel is good.

We were in a group of 6 ppl and we got 2 rooms. One of the rooms looks old. The ceiling and wall is a bit dirty and need to repaint. Breakfast need to improve.

It is very convenient to travel around staying in this hotel. It is near to the Yau Ma Tei MTR stations. Walking distance to Temple Steets, Mongkok where you can do some shopping. 7evelan is just foot steps away. Besides that, the airport express bus stop is just opposite the hotel and the fare is cheap.

Restaurant Tip : Go to Australian Dairy Co for breakfast near to Jordan stations. Can walk from hotel about 20mins.

Good service, convenient location

No preview available of 3 bed room

The hotel is easy to reach by taxi or airport express. Access to Hong Kong's underground rail services close to the hotel. The staff is friendly and helpful. A room equiped with three beds becomes very congested. However, when only a night's sleep is required, this is adequate. Maybe showing a three bed room on the web site will give future customers an indication of what to expect. Concluding, value for money by choosing this hotel.

Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Excellent service by local taxis

Location is on a quiet street just off the main road. Walking distance to the MRT and bus stop. Lots of shops, restaurant and food stalls around. Airport bus is available for a fee. Front desk staff very helpful. Room is clean and large compared to Hong Kong standards and nice view of the park from the window. In room safe available.

Breakfast is average needs more variety. TV has only 3 english channels and all of them news.

Would stay here again because of the location but I am bringing the hotel's name and direction in chinese next time.

Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Take the airport shuttle it is so convenient. Forget the ambiance...try the claypot restaurant across the main road...they are so cheap and delicious. Go to the night markets around the area....you will be suprise what you bargains you can get.

Room is large, bathroom is large, has in room safe, tea/coffee maker, staff is helpful, location is very convenient, steps to MTR and restaurants.

Building looks old and room is outdated. The buffet breakfast has the same menu almost daily without change.

This is the 2nd time I have lived in this lodge type accommodation. I like its convenient location close to Yau Ma Tei MTR and woman's street for bargain shopping. The price is not cheap for its outdated facility but I can walk to the air bus station and pay $33 to go to the Airport, otherwise I have to pay over $100.The staff is friendly and helpful. I would recommend solo traveler to go to this hotel for budget consideration.

Restaurant Tip : There are tons of restaurants on Nathan Road just off the building. You can taste different regional styles there.

Proximity to everything

Aircon system is window type and noisy. Bathroom taps leaky Curtains do not close properly

i have lived in Hong Kong for close to 40 years and now live in Sydney. This is my second stay in Bishop Bianchi Hotel and in the 70's I have stayed at Caritas Hostel in Boundary Street. The staff and the housekeeping are very cordial and so is the restaurant and the breakfast is very reasonable for the price of HK$40 in case I invited a guest. The hotel is close to everything, shopping, transport and the post office including banks and hostpital

Shopping Tip : it is close to the night markets in Argyle street and also Temple street and all other shopping that you may need. Also all the banks are very close and transport is also very good

good location, low price, quite helpful staff, safety, free breakfast, free English newspaper

The room is pretty simple, with not so much decoration. The walls are worn-out. Toilet tiles and equipments are old, although still functioning.

The biggest strength of this hotel is definitely its location. It's about 5 minutes away from Yau Ma Tei MTR, a short walk from all those night markets. It's perfect for shopping and strolling at night. There is also a convenient store that's open 24 hrs just around the corner, so you can grab quick snacks in the middle of the night. The hotel also offers free breakfasts, though the selection is few. Like other reviewers said, I would suggest you try local restaurants to get the local morning experience. Food here is delicious and not too expensive. What I don't like much about the place must be the room condition. The paint seems to be falling off. The furniture looks a bit old and worn-out, especially the bathroom equipments (e.g. stained tiles, dirty-looking toilet bowl). However, the rest of it is fine with me, considering the fact that I only need a safe, comfortable place to sleep. All in all, I enjoyed my stay at Caritas Bianchi Lodge and thought it was worthed my money. I would recommend this place for budget travellers, but perhaps not for honeymoon couples or those who are looking for a night of luxury.

Travel tip : It might be a good idea to stay in a non-smoking room to avoid the cigarette smell. There are rooms facing the street and rooms facing the cliff. I got the one with the view of Nathan Road, which was nice. You might like to go to Temple Street and Jade Street nearby. There you can see common Hong Kong lifestyles you can't find on Nathan Road.

good breakfast and good sized rooms for Hong Kong

a little old but staff trying hard to keep it up to standards

This hotel is very well priced and they are decent sized rooms for hong kong. Its a little old but the staff are what makes this hotel a good find. They are extremely helpful and will go out of their way to assist you.Breakfast was good with everything you could want except cerial. The TV in the room only has 1 english channel and we missed cable with multi channels. As i say a little old but more than makes up for it with an excellent location.

Shopping Tip : just go outside the door and there are shops all around and you are only 5 minutes walk from the busy markets.

Location of the hotel is excellent. Nathan Road, m MTR station, many good and inexpensive eateries are all within 5 minutes walk. Hotel room size is big (by HK standard) and best of all no traffic noise at all.

Furnishings and overall ambience of the hotel need to be updated. Breakfast can use a little more varieties from day to day.

Location of the hotel is excellent. Only 1/2 block from Nathan Road and 3 to 4 minutes walk from MTR station. Good and inexpensive eateries of different varieties are closeby, in a 5 minutes radius. We especially enjoy the juice store right by the entrance of MTR station. Hotel room size is big, by HK standard ( I was born in HK ) and best of all, no traffic noise. I would not hesitate to pay 20% more if the hotel update its furnishings and add a business center equipped with computers and printers.

Good location. Reasonable. Good rate of exchanging Japanese yen to Hong kong Dollers.

We did not have breakfast there at all. If they have stay-type w/o breakfast, that would be nice.

Great location to food markets and young and busy area. Some said that hotel room does not carry a hair dryer, but front desk had one upon our request. The exchange rate was much better deal than airport's or sightseeing areas'. We used a room for three. The wideness was good enough to sleep and go.

Good location. Nearby the Yaumatei MRT Station. Breakfast should improve. I stay three nights in Caritas, the food repeated every two day.

The pillow given too soft. The material of the blanket was so itchy. Felt not comfortable. Luckily the helpful housekeeper help me to cover the blanket with two layer of bed sheet. The receptionist was not informative even a very simple question. For example : which is the port to Macao. Answer : not sure?

This hotel was recommended by my friend. Overall ok! The location very good. Just walking distance to Mongkok Ladies market, Temple Street, MRT ,etc. But the room charges for me was too high. Nearby, there is a 7/11, manning, and a lot of good restaurant.
