Although the location is not that convenient, but it is near bus stops which takes you to various places. The hotel staff is always accommodating and willing to answer your queries.

Caritas Lodge is located at a convenient location near to Mong Kok with a big shopping centre and rail station. The room was basic but clean. Staff were very helpful and gave us a lot of tips on how to get around with suggestions of decent restaurants and sightseeing places. There were plenty of choices over the breakfast buffet.

The staff should provide a map for the nearest or bus line numbers for their guests since the front desk has difficultly communicating in English.
Hotel Feature Tip:
take the Waterloo road to get to the nearest MTR station which is the kowloon tong. From the other blogs it said go down to mongkok station but we got off at TST.

the hotel has 40 non-smoking rooms with 10 rooms each on the 9th, 10th, 11th, and 12th floors. the reception is located on the ground floor where you can get the password for free wifi usage inside the room. the café is located on the 1st floor for dinning. the breakfast served is a selection of american breakfast, chinese breakfast, and continental breakfast.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
take airport bus a21 at airport ground transportation centre with exact fare at or buy bus ticket at the ticket counter and stop at metropark hotel. from metropark hotel, walk toward the flyover & turn right at prince edward road west. pass nathan road, tung choi street, fa yuen street, sai yee street, yuen po street, and embankment road. turn left at knight street and turn right at boundary street to caritas lodge on the right side before waterloo road.

Overall good. 10 mins walk to Train station, location is better than expected. Only HKD taxi fare to Airport.

caritas lodge is located near grand century plaza where one can enjoy shopping, dinning, entertainment, and walk ways to nathan road and shopping streets like tung choi street where ladies market is located and fa yuen street for cheap shopping. you have to exercise your bargaining power when shopping at ladies market whereas fa yuen street shopping prices are fixed.
Restaurant Tip:
the american breakfast served at caritas lodge is a selection of apple juice or orange juice, selection of two fried eggs or scrambled egg, selection of ham, bacon, sausage, luncheon meat, minute steak, chicken steak, fish fillet, or burger, selection of coffee or tea, and two half toast.

The hotel is alittle old and the rooms could use a bit of a refurb/redecorating, but everything is functional and it is well cleaned.
It has all the facilities you would expect at a midrange hotel (tea making facilities, TV, inroom safe, etc) and even a few extras thrown in (complimentary internet connection - a rare freebie anywhere in HK).
There is a decent cafe/restaurant where you can get a made to order breakfast for about 30HKD (less than £3) and serves a more comprehensive menu throughout the day.
But it was the staff that made the stay. There is always at least one receptionist on duty who speaks excellent English and is always ready to help or give advice. And despite most of the cleaners speaking no English, they are always friendly and up for a laugh.
The hotel may seem a bit out of the way out in the more residential East of Mongkok, but once you get to know the area you realise it really isnt:
- it is only an easy 5 min walk from Monkok East MTR station on the East Rail Line (located in the Grand Plaza mall on Prince Edward Rd West) which is especially convenient for those who plan to visit the New Territories or Shenzhen.
-it is only a further 5 mins on the same road to Prince Edward Station which is on the well connected, centrally located Tsuen Wan Line.
-The 1A bus gives you an easy (and air conditioned - very important in the summer) between the hotel and the Star ferry terminal making stops at Prince Edward Station and some of the major shopping areas such as Nathan Rd.

The room is equipped with air conditioning, television with 3 program channels, fridge with 3 cans of soft drink and 2 bottled water, electric kettle, and safety deposit box. The room is small with twin beds with clean linen and blanket. The bathroom is extremely tiny which is smaller than the bathroom of a cruise ship cabin. No free bottled water and no coffee or tea provided inside the room.
Shopping Tip:
Tung Choi Street where Ladies Market is located and Fa Yuen Street for cheap shopping. You have to exercise your bargaining power when shopping at Ladies Market whereas Fa Yuen Street shopping prices are fixed.
